Dhofar University invites applications from motivated and qualified candidates for a part-time Research Assistant position supporting the research and innovation activities of the UNESCO Chair on Science and Innovation for Environmental Sustainability (SIES). The selected candidate will contribute to laboratory research, student training, and sustainable technology development.

• Bachelor s degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Good academic record and interest in applied research and environmental sustainability.
• Basic knowledge of chemical engineering laboratory methods, experimental work, and laboratory safety.
• Good English communication, scientific writing, computer, and teamwork skills.
Preferred experience
• Laboratory or research experience in biochemical engineering, biomaterials, biopolymers, or wastewater purifications, and environmental engineering.
• Familiarity with microbial cultivation, bacterial cellulose, bioplastics, waste valorization, or material characterization.
• Experience with experimental data analysis, technical reporting, or scientific publications.
Key responsibilities
• Conduct experiments related to sustainable biomaterials, waste valorization, biocellulose and bioplastic from multiple waste etc.
• Assist with material synthesis, characterization, laboratory operations, and research documentation.
• Support student research training, data collection, analysis, and technical reporting.
• Contribute to research proposals, manuscripts, scientific publications, workshops, and collaborative activities of the UNESCO Chair.
• Bachelor s degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized university.
