Quantity Surveying Engineer

Job Summary We are looking for an experienced and detail\-oriented **Quantity Surveying Engineer** to join our construction team in Bahrain. The ideal candidate should have **3–7 years of experience in a similar Quantity Surveying role** and strong knowledge of construction cost management, quantity take\-offs, estimation, tendering, contracts, and project cost control. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial and cost aspects of construction projects, ensuring accurate quantity measurements, cost monitoring, subcontractor management, and proper documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities * Prepare accurate **quantity take\-offs, BOQs, estimates, and cost calculations** for construction projects. * Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine quantities and material requirements. * Prepare and evaluate **tenders, quotations, and commercial proposals**. * Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. * Assist in negotiating prices, rates, and commercial terms with subcontractors and suppliers. * Monitor project costs against approved budgets and identify cost variances. * Prepare **interim payment applications, valuations, and payment certificates**. * Review and verify subcontractor payment applications and measurements. * Monitor variations, additional works, and change orders throughout the project. * Prepare and maintain **variation orders and cost reports**. * Assist with contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual requirements. * Maintain accurate records of project quantities, costs, variations, claims, and payments. * Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, subcontractors, consultants, and site teams. * Conduct site measurements and verify completed works for valuation and payment purposes. * Assist in the preparation and evaluation of **final accounts**. * Support the preparation and submission of claims when required. * Monitor material prices, labor costs, and market rates to support accurate project costing. * Identify potential commercial and financial risks and report them to management. * Prepare regular **cost and commercial reports** for management review. * Ensure all quantity surveying and commercial documentation is properly maintained and updated. Requirements * Bachelor’s Degree in **Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field**. * **3–7 years of working experience in a similar Quantity Surveying role**. * Previous experience in the **construction industry** is required. * Strong knowledge of **quantity take\-offs, BOQ preparation, estimation, and cost control**. * Experience with **subcontractor and supplier management**. * Good understanding of construction contracts, variations, claims, and payment procedures. * Ability to read and interpret **architectural, structural, and MEP drawings**. * Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and specifications. * Good knowledge of **MS Excel** and other MS Office applications. * Experience with quantity surveying, estimation, or construction management software is an advantage. * Strong analytical, numerical, negotiation, and problem\-solving skills. * Excellent communication and coordination skills. * Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines. * Good command of **English**, both written and spoken. * Knowledge of the **Bahrain construction market and local rates** is an advantage. * **Must be currently available in Bahrain.** * **Immediate joiners are preferred.** Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should be commercially aware, detail\-oriented, and capable of managing multiple project cost and quantity requirements.
