Protection Specialist Engineer

Provide specialist protection-system studies and engineering advice to reduce network risk, strengthen equipment protection and improve the reliability and effectiveness of electricity-network protection arrangements. Key Responsibilities • Conduct studies on protection of the electrical network and identify measures to mitigate system and equipment risks. • Assess protection-related issues affecting network security, reliability and operational performance. • Review monitoring and quality of electrical equipment and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency and reliability. • Provide protection-engineering input to network development, new substation, generation and operational studies where required. • Support evaluation of protection implications arising from network modifications and changing system conditions. • Prepare specialist technical studies, calculations, reports and engineering recommendations for client review. • Coordinate protection-study findings with planning, operations, communications/control and other relevant engineering disciplines.
