Job Description About the Role BEC Arabia is seeking a dedicated PMV - Mechanic Assistant to join our Logistics Department in Khobar. This role is integral to supporting the maintenance and repair of our Plant, Machinery, and Vehicles (PMV) fleet, which powers some of the Kingdom s most ambitious construction and infrastructure projects. As part of a dynamic and skilled team, you will assist in ensuring the operational readiness of critical equipment, contributing directly to the success of our projects. In this position, you will work closely with senior mechanics and technicians, gaining valuable hands-on experience with a diverse range of heavy machinery and vehicles. Key Responsibilities • Assist senior mechanics in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy construction equipment, vehicles, and machinery. • Perform routine inspections to identify mechanical issues and ensure equipment is in optimal working condition. • Support the diagnosis and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. • Conduct basic repairs and adjustments under the supervision of experienced technicians. • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including parts used and work completed. • Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols during all maintenance and repair activities. • Assist in the inventory management of tools, spare parts, and consumables. • Clean and organize the workshop area to maintain a safe and efficient working environment. • Transport tools, equipment, and parts to and from job sites as required. • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks. • Participate in training programs to enhance technical knowledge and skills. • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly. Working Conditions • Based in Khobar, Saudi Arabia, with potential travel to project sites within the region. • Primarily workshop and on-site work environments, including exposure to outdoor conditions and construction sites. • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. • Standard working hours with occasional overtime based on project needs. • Physically demanding role requiring manual labor and extended periods of standing or working in challenging conditions. • High school diploma or equivalent. • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the construction or heavy equipment industry. • Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. • Familiarity with tools and equipment used in the maintenance of heavy machinery. • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in various environmental conditions. • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
