Plumbing Engineer

• Participate where required in all aspects of the project management for the plumbing works. • Provide the work front availability to planner . • Plan, Manage and supervise the onsite plumbing works. • Undertake the detailed short-term planning and co-ordination at site in accordance with the master programme. • Ensure that all information is available to undertake the work. • Conduct toolbox talks and brief the MSRA’s to supervisor& foreman. • Ensure materials are available on site to undertake the work. • Ensure all materials are correctly stored at site and installed without damage. • Arrange the required tools and equipment to be available on site. • Control of the quality and technical correctness of the installation in accordance with the project quality assurance plan. • Ensures that the works are carried out in a safe manner in accordance with the project safety plan. • Allocate the workforce to areas of the site based on the programme, nature of the work, priority and the skills required. • Co-ordinate with the main contractor and other sub-contractors at site. • Set targets and monitors the productivity of the supervisor/foreman on site. • Arrange skills development and training for the foremen and site workforce. • Monitor the production and quality of subcontractors works at site. • Check the subcontractor’s work progress and certify their work progress. • Identify additional work at site and advise the Project Engineer. • Identify delays at site and notify the Project Engineer. • Implement the inspection and test plan and obtain the supervising engineers approval at each stage of the work. • Maintain records of the changes to the working drawings to enable the record drawings to be produced. • Manage the system cleaning, pre-commissioning and commissioning. • Provide the site progress markup drawings to Qs for monthly billing. • Detailed knowledge of the engineering and installation of plumbing works for infrastructure, commercial and light industrial buildings, including: equipment and sanitary ware installation, soil and waste drainage pipe work and accessories, rainwater pipe work and accessories, hot and cold water systems, pipe work insulation. • Site management skills to lead a team of foremen, tradesmen and • sub-contractors. • Knowledge of the overall construction processes and operating • practices. • Ability to communicate effectively in English and the Indian sub-continent languages both orally and in writing. Knowledge of spoken Arabic would be an advantage. • Knowledge of the GCC and GCC regulations and codes of practice • Ability to read and interpret drawings, method statements and specifications. • An active personality, able to interact freely with his peers. • Knowledge of safety regulations and management principles. • Ability to use spread sheet, database and word processing computer systems. • Fluent in written and spoken English and the Indian sub-continent Languages.
