Planning Engineer - Offshore / Marine / EPC Projects

SAFEEN Subsea is seeking a Planning Engineer to support project scheduling, progress monitoring and reporting across offshore, marine and EPC projects. Based in our Abu Dhabi office, you will develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress against contractual milestones and provide planning insights to support project delivery. The role covers activities from FEED and detailed engineering through procurement, fabrication, offshore installation, commissioning and handover. Key Responsibilities • Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6, including activities, durations, dependencies, resources and calendars. • Establish project baselines through the required approval process and maintain clear control of schedule revisions and changes. • Analyse critical and near-critical paths, monitor float and identify risks to project milestones. • Verify physical progress against approved measurement rules and supporting evidence across engineering, procurement, fabrication and offshore installation. • Update schedules with actual progress, assess variances and prepare schedule narratives, look-ahead programmes and progress reports. • Assess the schedule impact of changes, record delay events and support delay analysis and extension of time submissions. • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, contracts and project teams to align schedules, interfaces and delivery priorities. • Track long-lead procurement, resource requirements and potential conflicts across concurrent project scopes. • Work with cost control to reconcile schedule progress with cost performance and support earned value reporting. • Support client progress reporting and schedule review meetings. Qualifications and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related technical field. • 5–9 years of project planning and scheduling experience, including at least 3 years owning a project schedule through execution. • Relevant planning experience in offshore, marine, energy or heavy construction projects within FEED/EPC environments. • Demonstrated experience in schedule development, baselining and progress measurement on a project taken through to completion. • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel. • Strong knowledge of critical path analysis, float management, resource loading and levelling, work breakdown structures and schedule variance analysis. • Familiarity with Microsoft Project, earned value and progress reporting systems, and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle Fusion. • Strong analytical, coordination and reporting skills, with fluent written and spoken English. Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting delay analysis and extension of time claims. • Familiarity with ADNOC or ARAMCO project controls processes. • PMP or equivalent certification. • Experience using Power BI or similar reporting tools.
