Painter

Job Purpose To carry out painting, surface preparation, and finishing works for buildings, facilities, and other infrastructure, ensuring high-quality workmanship, timely completion, and compliance with safety standards. Key Duties and Responsibilities • Carry out painting works for internal and external walls, ceilings, doors, windows, partitions, and other building surfaces. • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling cracks, removing old paint, and applying putty or primer. • Select and apply appropriate paints, coatings, varnishes, and finishing materials as per job requirements. • Perform touch-up, repainting, and corrective painting works as required. • Carry out minor plastering, filling, and surface repair works before painting. • Ensure proper mixing, application, and finishing of paints to achieve a smooth and uniform appearance. • Protect furniture, flooring, equipment, and surrounding areas during painting activities. • Use painting tools and equipment safely, including brushes, rollers, spray guns, ladders, and scaffolding. • Maintain painting tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition. • Perform other related maintenance duties as assigned by the supervisor. • ITI / vocational training in painting or a related trade is preferred. • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Painter, preferably in facilities management, building maintenance, or construction. • Good knowledge of surface preparation, paint application, colour matching, and finishing techniques. • Ability to use painting tools, equipment, ladders, and scaffolding safely. • Basic understanding of workplace safety and material handling.
