Hiring: General Technician (NDT) – Qatar

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced General Technician (NDT) to carry out Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and inspection activities for refinery equipment, pipelines, and associated facilities. The candidate will support on-stream inspections, shutdown inspections, and fabrication projects in accordance with established QA/QC procedures, NDT plans, and annual inspection schedules.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform NDT inspections and testing of process equipment, pipelines, and associated facilities during on-stream operations and shutdowns.
• Conduct inspections at refinery facilities, including Berth 6 and other assigned locations.
• Carry out thickness gauging and update equipment and piping history records.
• Perform thermography surveys of refinery equipment and heaters.
• Witness Pressure Safety Valve (PSV) testing when assigned.
• Coordinate inspection requirements, including scaffolding, surface preparation, and insulation removal.
• Monitor contractors’ work for quality assurance and progress.
• Prepare formal NDT inspection reports, including drawings, test details, and findings.
• Prepare hand sketches to illustrate NDT findings and interpretations.
• Assist the NDT Supervisor in preparing inspection reports and maintaining documentation.
• Minimum 12 years of general education, plus a 2-year diploma in Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in NDT inspection, preferably in refineries or the Oil & Gas industry.
• At least 3 years of experience after obtaining NDT certification.
• Level II certification in UT, PT, MT, RT, and RTFI.
• Certification from BINDT-PCN, TWI-CSWIP, ASNT ACCP, ASNT CP-106, EN ISO 9712, or an equivalent recognized certification.
• API or AWS certification will be an added advantage.
• Computer literacy and the ability to assist in preparing technical inspection reports.
