MYP & DP Maths Teacher

Scope: MYP & DP Maths Teacher Reporting to: Head of High School Role Purpose The MYP/DP Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality, inquiry-based teaching and learning aligned with the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). The successful candidate will be an inspiring, adaptable and reflective educator who develops students' mathematical understanding, analytical thinking, problem-solving skills and academic achievement within an inclusive and engaging learning environment. Qualifications and Experience • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a relevant field. • Recognised teaching qualification appropriate to the role. • Experience teaching Mathematics at Middle and High School levels. • Experience with, or recent professional training in, the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). • Knowledge of IB DP Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (AA) and/or Applications and Interpretation (AI). • Experience in an international school environment is desirable. Knowledge and Skills • Commitment to ISL Qatar's values of Belonging, Integrity, Grit and Kindness. • Strong understanding of the IB MYP and DP Mathematics frameworks, curriculum requirements and assessment practices. • Ability to deliver engaging, differentiated and concept-based Mathematics lessons that meet diverse learning needs. • Knowledge of inquiry-based learning, Assessment for Learning (AfL) and Understanding by Design (UbD). • Ability to prepare students for IB DP internal assessments and external examinations. • Strong classroom management skills and commitment to student wellbeing and safeguarding. • Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills. • Effective use of educational technology, mathematical tools and digital learning platforms. • Strong organisational skills, adaptability and commitment to continuous professional development.
