Multi Virtualization Administrator (VMware + Nutanix)

We are seeking a highly skilled Multi Virtualization Administrator with extensive experience in VMware vSphere and Nutanix Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, optimization, security, availability, and lifecycle management of enterprise virtualization platforms supporting mission-critical business workloads. This role requires deep technical expertise across VMware and Nutanix technologies, strong troubleshooting capabilities, disaster recovery management experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with infrastructure, networking, storage, security, and application teams. Role & responsibilities VMware Administration • Manage and administer VMware infrastructure including ESXi, vCenter Server, vSAN, and VMware clusters . • Configure and maintain High Availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), vMotion, Storage vMotion, and VMware lifecycle management . • Perform installation, upgrades, patching, and performance tuning of VMware environments. • Provision, migrate, clone, snapshot, and decommission virtual machines. Nutanix Administration • Administer Nutanix HCI environment including AOS, AHV, Prism Element, and Prism Central . • Manage Nutanix storage resources, replication, snapshots, protection domains, and capacity planning. • Support configuration and maintenance of Nutanix Live Migration, Metro Availability, and Nutanix Leap . • Monitor cluster health, utilization, and overall platform performance. Infrastructure Operations • Monitor virtualization infrastructure performance, availability, capacity, and health. • Troubleshoot and resolve compute, storage, networking, and virtualization-related issues. • Ensure service availability and optimal performance for business-critical workloads. • Conduct infrastructure health checks, optimization initiatives, and capacity assessments. Storage & Networking • Manage storage resources including VMware datastores, vSAN, Nutanix storage containers, replication, and snapshots . • Configure and maintain virtual networking, VLANs, distributed switches, IP addressing, and network segmentation. • Coordinate with storage and network teams to ensure infrastructure stability and performance. Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity • Implement and support disaster recovery solutions including: • VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) • VMware Live Recovery • Nutanix Leap • Nutanix Metro Availability • Third-party DR solutions • Perform DR testing and maintain recovery readiness across environments. Security & Compliance • Implement and maintain virtualization security best practices. • Manage role-based access control (RBAC), MFA integration, and privileged access controls. • Support audits, compliance assessments, and governance initiatives. Documentation & Collaboration • Develop and maintain operational documentation, SOPs, architecture diagrams, and knowledge base articles. • Collaborate with server, storage, backup, networking, security, and application teams. • Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes. • Provide on-call support for critical infrastructure environments. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). • 5+ years of hands-on experience administering enterprise virtualization environments. • Strong expertise in: • VMware vSphere • ESXi • vCenter Server • VMware vSAN • Strong experience with: • Nutanix AHV • AOS • Prism Central • Prism Element • Experience managing large-scale enterprise virtualization clusters. • Strong understanding of Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) architecture. • Experience with VMware HA, DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion, and vSAN. • Hands-on experience with Nutanix storage, replication, snapshots, and DR solutions. • Good understanding of enterprise networking and storage technologies. • Working knowledge of Windows Server and Linux administration. • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills. • Experience with automation and scripting using: • PowerCLI • PowerShell • REST APIs • Python • Ansible • Experience with enterprise backup solutions such as: • Veeam • Rubrik • Commvault • Similar platforms Preferred candidate profile • VMware Certified Professional Data Center Virtualization ( VCP-DCV ) • VMware Certified Advanced Professional ( VCAP ) preferred • Nutanix Certified Professional Multicloud Infrastructure ( NCP-MCI ) • Nutanix Advanced or Master Certifications preferred • Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) • Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud solutions including: • Nutanix NC2 • Azure VMware Solution (AVS) • VMware Cloud on AWS • Exposure to Kubernetes and OpenShift virtualization integration. • Knowledge of cybersecurity controls and compliance frameworks.
