Mechanical Technician

**Key Responsibilities** * Carry out preventive planned maintenance (PPM) activities correctly and within the scheduled time. * Perform corrective maintenance and breakdown\-repair activities safely and efficiently. * Inspect, diagnose and assist in repairing mechanical faults to minimize production downtime. * Conduct routine inspections of conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, mixers, ovens and other production equipment. * Replace worn or damaged mechanical components, including bearings, belts, chains, seals, couplings and related parts. * Lubricate machinery and equipment in accordance with the approved preventive maintenance schedule. * Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, dismantling, relocation and modification activities. * Coordinate with production personnel to complete maintenance activities with minimum disruption to operations. * Report equipment abnormalities, defects, damages, breakdowns and unsafe conditions to the Maintenance Supervisor, Engineer, Maintenance Head. * Report required spare parts, tools, materials and their availability to the responsible supervisor. * Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, work orders, inspection checklists and breakdown reports. * Complete assigned maintenance tasks to the required quality standard and within the agreed deadline. * Follow the duty roster, work schedule and instructions issued by the Maintenance Supervisor, Engineer, Maintenance Head. * Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), permit\-to\-work and other approved safety procedures before and during maintenance activities. * Take proper care of company tools, test instruments, lifting equipment and other maintenance equipment. * Maintain proper housekeeping in the workshop, maintenance areas and equipment locations. * Comply with food safety, GMP, HACCP, hygiene and quality requirements applicable to the facility. * Comply with company HSEQ procedures, client requirements and applicable site rules and regulations. * Attend toolbox talks, safety briefings and mandatory training sessions. * Immediately report accidents, incidents, near misses, property damage and work\-related health events to the line manager. * Participate in emergency breakdown maintenance, shutdowns and other urgent maintenance activities when required. * Support equipment improvement and reliability activities to improve performance and reduce recurring failures. * Perform other maintenance\-related duties reasonably assigned by management.
