Mechanical HVAC Engineer

• Review HVAC drawings, specifications, BOQs and project requirements. • Perform heat-load calculations and select suitable HVAC equipment. • Prepare HVAC designs for chilled-water, DX, package, ducted-split, VRF/VRV, ventilation and fresh-air systems. • Prepare shop drawings, coordination drawings, equipment schedules and material submittals. • Carry out duct-sizing, chilled-water pipe-sizing and airflow calculations. • Coordinate HVAC work with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing and fire-fighting services. • Conduct site surveys and verify actual conditions and measurements. • Plan and supervise HVAC installation works in accordance with approved drawings and specifications. • Assign and monitor technicians, duct installers, pipefitters and helpers. • Ensure the correct installation of chillers, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, package units, split units, ducts, pipes and ventilation equipment. • Prepare material requests, quantity take-offs, cost estimates and quotations. • Monitor project progress, manpower, materials and daily site activities. • Attend site meetings and coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors and other subcontractors. • Prepare inspection requests, method statements, technical reports and progress reports. • Supervise pressure testing, flushing, duct leakage testing, air balancing, testing and commissioning. • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering or a related discipline. • Minimum 3–5 years of practical HVAC experience; UAE or GCC experience is preferred. • Strong knowledge of chilled-water, DX, package, ducted-split, VRF/VRV, ventilation and fresh-air systems. • Practical experience in HVAC design, equipment selection, installation, testing and commissioning. • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. • Knowledge of HVAC design software such as HAP, Revit MEP or equivalent is an advantage. • Capable of working independently and handling several sites or assignments. • Responsible, organized, safety-conscious and committed to quality. • Good written and spoken English; • Willing to travel between project sites and work additional hours when required. • Candidates currently available in the UAE under an employment, cancelled or visit visa are preferred.
