Mechanic – Heavy Trucks & Buses

* Perform major and minor mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of heavy\-duty trucks, buses, and Coasters. * Carry out complete servicing, including engine oil, coolant, transmission oil, differential oil, and other fluid replacements. * Diagnose and repair diesel/petrol engines, transmission, clutch, differential, suspension, steering, braking, and drivetrain systems. * Perform complete diesel/petrol engine overhauls, including dismantling, inspection, component replacement, reassembly, installation, and testing. * Replace and repair pistons, piston rings, bearings, gaskets, seals, cylinder heads, crankshafts, camshafts, and other engine components. * Carry out engine installation, alignment, timing, adjustment, and initial start\-up checks following repairs or overhaul. * Diagnose and rectify oil/coolant leaks, abnormal noise, vibration, overheating, smoke, loss of power, and other performance issues. * Perform gearbox removal, dismantling, inspection, repair, reassembly, and installation, including checking gear\-shifting performance. * Repair and replace clutch assemblies, including clutch plates, pressure plates, and release bearings. * Inspect and repair air brake systems, including compressors, air dryers, brake chambers, hoses, valves, and related components. * Diagnose and repair suspension, steering, wheel\-end, and braking systems. * Troubleshoot vehicle electrical and starting/charging systems, including batteries, alternators, and starter motors. * Attend vehicle breakdowns and roadside repairs and provide technical support to restore vehicles safely and promptly. * Supervise and guide Assistant Mechanics and junior technicians, ensuring correct tools, torque procedures, and repair methods are followed. * Conduct post\-repair inspections, testing, and quality checks, maintain workshop housekeeping, and follow all company HSE procedures.
