Local Project Manager

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Local Project Manager based in Abu Dhabi to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex oil & gas automation and commissioning projects. The successful candidate will leverage deep technical expertise and local market knowledge to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. Responsibilities: • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with corporate goals • Lead multidisciplinary teams through all project phases, from design and procurement to installation and commissioning • Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities to manage expectations and secure approvals • Monitor project performance metrics, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies • Ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi regulations, industry standards, and HSE requirements • Conduct regular site visits to oversee progress, resolve technical issues, and maintain safety standards • Prepare and present project status reports, financial forecasts, and post-project evaluations to senior management Preferred Qualifications: • Project Management Professional (PMP), Prince2, or equivalent certification • Master s degree in Engineering Management or related field • Experience with EPC contracts and FIDIC terms • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 management systems • Arabic language proficiency • Certification in HSE management or Lead Auditor • Experience with digital project collaboration platforms and advanced reporting tools Position Details • Position Title: Local Project Manager- Abu Dhabi • Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE • Industry: Automotive • Experience Required: 8+ years Required Qualifications: • Bachelor s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline • 8 10 years of proven project management experience in oil & gas automation and commissioning • Demonstrated track record managing medium to large-scale projects in Abu Dhabi • Strong technical understanding of control systems, instrumentation, and commissioning processes • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills • In-depth knowledge of local regulations, HSE standards, and procurement practices • Ability to work effectively under pressure and drive continuous improvement
