We, at Emarat Aloula Contracting is seeking an experienced Lifting Superviso r to oversee all lifting
operations for the Rehabilitation and Upgrading of Pumping Stations across Abu Dhabi.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and ensuring
the safe execution of routine and critical lifting operations associated with the installation, removal,
rehabilitation, and replacement of mechanical and electrical equipment within operational utility
facilities. The role requires close coordination with construction, HSE, QA/QC, consultants, and
client representatives to ensure compliance with project specifications, lifting procedures, and UAE
safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Lifting Operations
• Supervise routine and critical lifting operations in accordance with approved Lift Plans,
Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Permit to Work (PTW) requirements.
• Coordinate lifting activities involving mobile cranes, crawler cranes, telehandlers, forklifts,
chain blocks, gantries, and other lifting equipment.
• Ensure lifting operations are safely executed within live pumping stations and restricted work
environments.
Planning & Coordination
• Review Lift Plans, crane configurations, rigging arrangements, lifting accessories, load
calculations, and ground conditions prior to lifting activities.
• Conduct pre-lift meetings and toolbox talks to ensure all personnel understand lifting
procedures, hazards, and control measures.
• Coordinate daily lifting activities with Project Engineers, Construction Teams, HSE personnel,
Consultants, and Client representatives.
Inspection & Compliance
• Verify the certification and suitability of cranes, lifting equipment, rigging gear, slings,
shackles, spreader beams, chain blocks, and lifting accessories.
• Ensure crane operators, riggers, signalmen, and lifting personnel possess valid competency
certifications.
• Monitor compliance with project specifications, client requirements, UAE regulations, and
international lifting standards.
Safety & Documentation
• Stop unsafe lifting activities and report unsafe conditions immediately.
• Participate in incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Review and maintain Lift Plans, crane inspection records, lifting equipment certifications,
daily checklists, and lifting registers.
• Prepare daily and weekly lifting reports and maintain complete lifting documentation.
Qualifications
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent
technical qualification.
• Valid Lifting Supervisor Certification from a recognized training provider (Mandatory).
• Appointed Person for Lifting Operations (APLO) certification or equivalent competency is
highly preferred.
• LEEA, CPCS, NPORS, CITB, ADNOC, or equivalent lifting qualifications will be an advantage.
• Valid UAE Driving Licence is preferred.
Experience Requirements
• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant UAE/GCC experience in lifting supervision for
Infrastructure, Utilities, Water Transmission, Wastewater, Pumping Stations, District
Cooling, Power, or Oil & Gas Projects.
• Proven experience supervising lifting operations for rehabilitation, upgrading, installation,
and maintenance of pumping stations or similar utility facilities.
• Strong experience in:
o Critical Lifting Operations
o Heavy Mechanical Equipment Installation
o Pumps, Motors, Valves, Pipework, Generators and Associated Equipment
o Mobile & Crawler Crane Operations
o Rigging & Slinging Activities
• Experience with TAQA, TRANSCO, ADDC, AADC, ADSSC, ADNOC, or similar utility clients is
highly preferred.

• Ability to work safely under pressure in live operational utility environments.
Preferred Attributes
• Competency equivalent to or approaching an Appointed Person for Lifting Operations
(APLO).
• Experience in rehabilitation and upgrading of operational pumping stations.
• Familiarity with UAE utility client requirements and infrastructure projects.
• Immediate or short-notice availability is an advantage.
