About The Role Based in Abu Dhabi reporting to the Head of Legal the Legal Counsel provides practical, commercially focused legal support across the business by reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and responding to day-to-day legal queries from internal stakeholders. The role is responsible for managing legal risk through timely, pragmatic advice while enabling the business to achieve its strategic objectives. The successful candidate will build trusted relationships across the organisation, delivering responsive legal guidance and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Commercial Contracts Review, draft and negotiate customer, supplier, SaaS, consultancy, partnership, licensing and confidentiality agreements
• Develop and maintain standard contract templates and clauses
• Support contract lifecycle management and execution processes
• Ensure contracts align with company policies and risk appetite
• Business Legal Advisory Provide practical legal advice to internal stakeholders across Sales, Procurement, HR, Finance, Technology and Operations
• Respond to day-to-day legal queries and identify legal risks
• Support new products, services and commercial initiatives
• Corporate & Governance Support corporate governance activities, legal documentation and authorised signatory processes
• Maintain legal records and assist with board documentation where required
• Policy & Compliance Support legal policy development and regulatory compliance
• Monitor legal developments and deliver legal awareness guidance
• Legal Operations Maintain contract repositories and legal trackers
• Identify opportunities to improve legal processes and reporting
• Stakeholder Management Collaborate with business leaders and external counsel to deliver timely, practical legal support
To Be The Right Fit, You'll Need Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB or equivalent) Qualified lawyer in a recognised jurisdiction 3 6 years post-qualification experience, ideally in-house or commercial practice Strong experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts Excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills Knowledge of commercial and corporate law Experience within technology, SaaS or education sectors is desirable Excellent English communication skills
