Lead Detailing Engineer **Location:** Qatar **Employment Type:** Full\-Time **Industry:** Structural Steel Fabrication / Mechanical Engineering Job Summary DIME International Mechanical Engineering is seeking an experienced and highly motivated **Lead Detailing Engineer** to lead our Structural Steel Detailing team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in structural steel detailing, fabrication engineering, and EPC projects, with strong expertise in Tekla Structures and AutoCAD. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the detailing team, ensuring engineering quality, and coordinating with cross\-functional departments to deliver projects on time. Key Responsibilities * Lead, supervise, and mentor the detailing team to ensure timely project delivery. * Review, verify, and approve shop, assembly, GA, and erection drawings. * Prepare, review, and validate Bills of Materials (BOM) and Material Take\-Offs (MTO). * Coordinate with Production, QA/QC, Planning, Procurement, and Project teams to resolve technical issues. * Ensure detailing complies with project specifications, client requirements, and applicable international standards. * Provide technical support during fabrication, inspection, and site erection activities. * Monitor project schedules and ensure engineering deliverables are completed within deadlines. * Review and optimize detailing methods to improve productivity and minimize fabrication issues. * Attend technical meetings with clients, consultants, and internal departments when required. * Maintain proper documentation and revision control for all engineering drawings. * Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and engineering best practices. RequirementsEducation * Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Structural Engineering. Experience * 8–12 years of experience in Structural Steel Detailing and Fabrication Engineering. * Minimum 5 years of experience in a Lead or Supervisory role. * Mandatory experience in GCC/Qatar projects. * Experience in EPC and structural steel fabrication companies is highly preferred. Technical Skills * Advanced/Expert proficiency in Tekla Structures. * Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD. * Excellent understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes. * Familiarity with AWS, AISC, BS EN, ASME, API, ISO, and related international standards. * Ability to review fabrication drawings, connection details, and erection drawings. * Strong knowledge of material specifications, welding details, and fabrication practices. Soft Skills * Strong leadership and team management skills. * Excellent communication and coordination abilities. * Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills. * Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. * High attention to detail and commitment to quality. Preferred Qualifications * Experience working on Oil \& Gas, Industrial, and EPC projects. * Knowledge of fabrication workflows and project execution. * Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
