**Omani Junior Civil Engineer / Quantity Surveyor** **Position:** Junior Civil Engineer / Quantity Surveyor **Nationality:** Omani **Location:** Oman **Employment Type:** Full\-Time **Department:** Quantity Surveying / Commercial **Reports To:** Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager **1\. Position Overview** We are seeking a young and motivated Omani Civil Engineer / Quantity Surveyor to join our engineering and project management consultancy. The successful candidate will support the team in **quantity measurement, BOQ preparation, cost estimation, tender documentation, tender evaluation and post\-contract quantity surveying**. The candidate must have good practical knowledge of **AutoCAD and be capable of measuring quantities directly from engineering and architectural drawings**. **2\. Key Responsibilities** * Review architectural, structural, civil and MEP drawings. * Carry out **quantity take\-off and measurement using AutoCAD**. * Prepare detailed measurement sheets and quantity calculations. * Assist in preparing and updating **Bills of Quantities (BOQs)**. * Assist in preparing cost estimates and project budgets. * Prepare tender documents and schedules under the supervision of senior staff. * Review and compare contractors' tender submissions. * Assist in preparing tender evaluation and recommendation reports. * Check contractors' interim payment applications and site measurements. * Assist in measuring and valuing variations and additional works. * Attend project sites when required to verify quantities and progress. * Maintain project quantity, variation and payment records. * Assist with cost reports and commercial administration. * Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors and other project stakeholders. * Perform other QS and civil engineering duties assigned by the Senior QS / Commercial Manager. **3\. Essential Requirements** * **Omani National.** * Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. * Fresh graduates * Good knowledge of AutoCAD – essential. * Must be able to read drawings and carry out accurate quantity measurements from AutoCAD drawings. * Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. * Good understanding of building construction and construction materials. * Good numerical and analytical ability. * Good communication and reporting skills. * Willingness to learn and develop a career in Quantity Surveying and Construction Consultancy. **4\. Preferred Skills** Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge or experience in: * BOQ preparation. * Quantity take\-off. * Cost estimation. * Tender preparation and evaluation. * Interim payment valuation. * Variation measurement and valuation. * FIDIC contracts. * CESMM / SMM or other methods of measurement. * Oman construction practices. **5\. Key Competency – AutoCAD Measurement** AutoCAD proficiency is an important requirement of this position. The candidate should be able to: * Read and interpret AutoCAD drawings. * Extract dimensions and areas from drawings. * Measure quantities from plans, elevations and sections. * Calculate quantities for concrete, blockwork, plastering, flooring, excavation, backfilling and other works. * Check drawing revisions and identify changes affecting quantities. * Transfer measurements accurately into Excel/BOQ formats.
