IoT Automation Specialist

Job Description We are seeking an experienced IoT Automation Specialist to design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade IoT and automation solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in IoT architecture, automation frameworks, cloud IoT platforms, industrial systems, and cybersecurity while leading the successful delivery of enterprise automation initiatives. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and manage IoT and automation solutions by integrating devices, sensors, gateways, and enterprise platforms. • Lead the deployment and implementation of IoT systems, including device onboarding, configuration, network integration, and data collection. • Develop and optimize automation frameworks to improve operational efficiency and streamline business processes. • Monitor and maintain IoT environments to ensure performance, availability, reliability, and security. • Troubleshoot complex IoT device, connectivity, and system integration issues while coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders. • Develop custom automation applications and scripts using Python, JavaScript, C/C++, or related technologies. • Collaborate with IT, engineering, operations, and business teams to align solutions with organizational objectives. • Implement IoT security best practices, including secure communication, authentication, encryption, and device management. • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and organizational governance requirements. • Create and maintain technical documentation, including solution architectures, automation workflows, deployment procedures, and configuration guides. • Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance across IoT and automation projects. Must-Have Skills & Experience • Extensive experience in IoT architecture, including device integration and network protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, Modbus, and OPC UA. • Hands-on experience with cloud IoT platforms such as AWS IoT, Microsoft Azure IoT Hub, or Google Cloud IoT. • Strong expertise in automation tools and frameworks including Node-RED, Home Assistant, Ansible, or similar platforms. • Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, C/C++, or other relevant programming languages for IoT and automation development. • Strong understanding of edge computing, real-time data processing, M2M communication, and IoT analytics. • Experience implementing IoT cybersecurity practices, including encryption, authentication, secure device provisioning, and vulnerability management. • Hands-on experience in Industrial IoT (IIoT) environments involving PLCs, SCADA systems, and OT/IT integration. • Proven experience designing and implementing scalable enterprise IoT and automation architectures. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills for complex distributed systems. • Proven experience leading technical projects and cross-functional teams. • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Good-to-Have Skills • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization technologies. • Knowledge of AI/ML use cases within IoT ecosystems. • Experience with IoT data lakes, streaming platforms, and advanced analytics solutions. • Relevant certifications in AWS, Azure, IoT, cybersecurity, or industrial automation. • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices. • Experience in smart buildings, smart cities, manufacturing, utilities, energy, or industrial automation environments.
