Location: Sharjah, UAE Experience: 5–10 Years Employment Type: Full-Time Kinematic Technical Services is looking for an experienced and technically competent Senior HVAC Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for HVAC design, detailed engineering, tender preparation, BOQ and MTO development, procurement engineering and technical coordination with fabrication and project execution teams. The candidate must be capable of independently reviewing project enquiries and tender packages, understanding the Scope of Work and developing a complete technical and engineering approach for tender submission. 1. HVAC Design & Detailed Engineering • Perform HVAC cooling and heating load calculations and equipment selection. • Prepare HVAC layouts, sections, duct routing and detailed engineering drawings. • Perform duct sizing, static pressure calculations and equipment sizing. • Prepare HVAC design calculations, technical specifications and engineering documents. • Prepare shop drawings and material technical submittals. • Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, SMACNA and applicable project specifications. 2. Tender Review & Preparation • Independently review and interpret project Scope of Work (SOW), technical specifications, drawings, BOQs and tender documents. • Understand project requirements, scope boundaries, deliverables, exclusions and interfaces. • Identify scope gaps, technical discrepancies, missing information and potential project risks. • Develop a clear way forward and tender preparation strategy based on project requirements. • Prepare Technical Queries (TQs), Requests for Clarification and tender qualifications. • Prepare technical proposals, compliance statements, execution methodologies and tender documentation. • Coordinate with estimation and management teams to ensure complete and competitive tender submissions. 3. BOQ, MTO & Estimation Support • Prepare detailed BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and MTOs (Material Take-Offs). • Perform quantity take-offs for HVAC ductwork, piping, insulation, cladding, accessories and equipment. • Calculate material quantities based on project drawings and specifications. • Identify fabrication, installation and associated project requirements. • Support the estimation team with technical inputs, material quantities and pricing requirements. • Review BOQs against drawings and Scope of Work to ensure accuracy and completeness. 4. Procurement Engineering • Prepare Material Requisitions (MRs) and procurement specifications. • Identify approved manufacturers, suppliers and technically compliant materials. • Review supplier quotations and technical offers. • Prepare Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE). • Review material submittals, Material Approval Requests (MARs), datasheets and Material Test Certificates (MTCs). • Coordinate with procurement teams and suppliers regarding material availability, technical compliance and delivery schedules. • Identify long-lead materials and procurement priorities. 5. Fabrication & Project Execution Support • Coordinate with workshop, fabrication, procurement and project execution teams. • Provide engineering support for HVAC duct fabrication and installation. • Review fabrication drawings and resolve technical discrepancies. • Support site engineering activities and technical coordination. • Assist with testing, commissioning and project handover documentation. Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. • 5–10 years of relevant HVAC design and engineering experience. • Experience in industrial, oil & gas, offshore or EPC projects is highly preferred. • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork design and equipment selection. • Proficiency in AutoCAD and HAP. • Knowledge of Revit MEP is an advantage. • Practical experience in BOQ, MTO, MR, TBE, technical submittals and procurement engineering. • Good knowledge of ASHRAE, SMACNA and relevant international standards. • UAE project experience is preferred. Required Competencies • Ability to independently review and understand complex project Scope of Work and tender packages. • Ability to develop engineering and tender preparation strategies. • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills. • Practical understanding of HVAC fabrication, installation and procurement processes. • Ability to manage multiple engineering and tender assignments independently. • Good communication, coordination and technical documentation skills. • Ability to work under pressure and meet tender submission deadlines.
