HSE Engineer

• Develop, implement and annually review the OHS Management System, Safety Policy, Risk Register, Legal Register and Safe Operating Procedures, working towards our zero injury goal • Support the QHSE Manager in setting OHS objectives, targets, the annual safety plan and budget • Lead hazard identification and risk assessments for fabrication, assembly, electrical, lifting and pressure testing activities • Put engineering controls, machine guarding and PPE requirements in place, and make sure they are followed • Carry out internal and external safety audits and regular site inspections, and follow through on corrective actions • Investigate incidents, identify root causes and share lessons learned across teams • Build and deliver safety training, awareness programmes and recognition schemes • Develop onsite and offsite emergency plans and run emergency drills • Oversee fire detection and firefighting systems in line with Civil Defence requirements • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual safety performance reports for management and authorities • Liaise with the Industrial Development Bureau, OSHAD, Civil Defence and EAD • Manage the OHS team and oversee contractors for waste management, fire systems and audits • Bachelor’s degree in Safety or an Engineering discipline • 8+ years’ experience in occupational health and safety within the energy industry • NEBOSH IGC (required) • ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Internal Auditor certification • Hands-on experience with risk assessment studies such as TRA, HAZID, HAZOP, PSSR and HSEIA • Proven experience in HSE systems, inspections, project implementation and training delivery • Strong English communication and presentation skills; Arabic is an advantage • Leadership skills and the confidence to engage with operational heads and contractors • Willingness to work across onshore, offshore and factory sites
