General Technician

The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing all maintenance-related repairs for dry stores, cold stores, and building facilities as requested, ensuring the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and effectiveness Duties and Responsibilities • Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including a safe work area for all. • Maintaining, Repairs or replacement of defective equipment and components. • Install, service and repairs of heating, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing and any general maintenance related requests – Any general work request related to maintenance which need attention in restaurants, warehouses as well as accommodations. • Maintenance to refrigeration compressors and air-conditioning units. • Maintenance planning- Plan maintenance to be structured so that the most efficient and cost- effective way of doing will be used. • Job card system must be followed. • New equipment installations – Install of any new equipment for example washing machines, ac’s, refrigeration compressors etc. • Market chiller repairs, removal and placements. · Any general requests by Superiors. • Asset control – will have the responsibility to take care of assets and must take all possible pre- cautions to prevent any asset losses for assigned responsible area. • Safe work environment. • Maintenance and preventative schedule and actions. • Housekeeping – Refer to the maintenance people and department itself. Must be clean and in good order at all times. • Clean up after work has been completed etc. • Attend after hour’s emergency brake downs. • Assistance to other coworkers where needed. Install and maintain of any cables and wires . • Any new cable installations and maintenance to cables and wires for equipment. No open wires Job Title General Technician aloud. Panel and motor maintenance • Maintain compressors and motors as well as any switch gear for any starting needs. • Make sure trip out conditions is operational always to prevent losses. Safety and House keeping • Safe work environment – Must make sure that the area been working in is safe not only for yourself but for all others. Assets must also be operated in a safe environment which entails the maintenance of fire and any building safety equipment. • Housekeeping – Refer to the maintenance people and department itself. Must be need and in good order always. Clean up after work been completed etc. Addresses general requests and tasks assigned by superiors Essential Qualification (Must Have) • Primary, secondary, or any relevant level. • Safety training and certificate are additional. Experience: • 3 years minimum in electrical and refrigeration. • Ammonia refrigeration experience has an advantage. • Plumbing, painting and other maintenance skills are additional. • Light and Medium Vehicle Driving License.
