Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled DOH Licensed Specialist/Consultant Gastroenterologist to provide comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and management of gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and liver diseases. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures and be committed to delivering exceptional patient care in accordance with international clinical standards. Key Responsibilities • Diagnose and treat disorders of the digestive system, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and biliary tract. • Perform outpatient consultations, inpatient rounds, and follow-up care. • Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic upper GI endoscopy (gastroscopy) and colonoscopy. • Perform advanced endoscopic procedures, including: • Balloon Enteroscopy (Single or Double Balloon) • Capsule Endoscopy • Endoscopic Polypectomy • Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR) • Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD) – preferred • Endoscopic Hemostasis for gastrointestinal bleeding • Esophageal Dilatation and Stenting • Foreign Body Removal • Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG) • Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) – preferred • Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) – preferred • Diagnose and manage gastrointestinal bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), peptic ulcer disease, GERD, liver diseases, pancreatic disorders, colorectal diseases, and gastrointestinal cancers. • Interpret laboratory investigations, pathology reports, radiological imaging, and endoscopic findings. • Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate multidisciplinary care where required. • Educate patients and families on disease prevention, treatment options, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications. • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records. • Ensure compliance with Department of Health (DOH) regulations, hospital policies, infection control protocols, and quality standards. • Participate in clinical audits, CME activities, research, and quality improvement initiatives. • Support business growth by contributing to service development and maintaining high patient satisfaction. Qualifications • MBBS or equivalent medical degree. • MD, DM, CCT, Board Certification, or equivalent qualification in Gastroenterology. • Valid DOH License or Eligibility as a Specialist/Consultant Gastroenterologist. • Fellowship or additional certification in Advanced Gastrointestinal Endoscopy is preferred. Experience • Minimum 5–10 years of relevant clinical experience after specialization. • Proven expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. • Experience performing advanced procedures such as Balloon Enteroscopy, ERCP, EUS, EMR, and ESD is highly desirable. • . • Experience in a tertiary care hospital or multispecialty medical center is preferred. Employment Requirements • Valid DOH License/Eligibility. • Immediate availability or short notice period preferred. • Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an added advantage
