Job Summary The Food and Beverage Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing a designated restaurant section to ensure the delivery of exceptional food and beverage service in line with Rosewood brand standards and the expectations of an ultra\-luxury environment. The role focuses on creating personalized, seamless, and memorable dining experiences through strong leadership, operational excellence, and guest engagement. The Captain serves as a key point of contact for guests, ensuring service standards are consistently maintained, guest concerns are resolved professionally, and service teams are effectively coordinated throughout all service periods. Close collaboration with Culinary, Beverage, and other operational departments is essential to achieve outstanding guest satisfaction and support the overall success of the outlet. Accountability includes guest satisfaction, service quality, team performance, and operational efficiency within the assigned section. Essential Duties and Responsibilities **Quality:** * Lead and supervise the service team to ensure compliance with Rosewood brand standards, Forbes standards, and LQA requirements at all times. * Deliver exceptional, personalized, and memorable dining experiences through proactive guest engagement, attention to detail, and operational excellence. * Ensure the consistent execution of established service sequences, outlet standards, and luxury hospitality practices throughout all service periods. * Act as the primary point of contact for guests within the assigned section. * Maintain a strong and visible presence on the restaurant floor, ensuring service flows smoothly and guest expectations are consistently exceeded. * Monitor table allocation, service timing, and associate performance to ensure efficient and seamless operations. * Demonstrate advanced knowledge of food menus, beverage offerings, preparation methods, promotions, and daily specials. * Support associates in providing accurate menu recommendations and responding confidently to guest inquiries, dietary requirements, allergies, and special requests. * Anticipate guest needs, taking proactive actions to enhance the overall dining experience. * Handle guest feedback, concerns, and complaints professionally and promptly, ensuring effective resolution and guest satisfaction. * Coordinate closely with Culinary, Beverage and other departments to ensure timely preparation and delivery of food and beverages. * Ensure all orders are taken, processed, served, and cleared in accordance with established standards and service timelines. * Monitor and maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of dining areas, service stations, equipment, and operating supplies. * Support the planning and execution of VIP services, special occasions, group reservations, and guest recognition initiatives. * Ensure guest preferences, profiles, and service recovery opportunities are communicated effectively to the team and acted upon accordingly. * Support management in maintaining a culture of service excellence, attention to detail, and continuous improvement across the outlet. **Financial:** * Support achievement of outlet revenue targets through effective leadership and sales awareness. * Encourage and monitor suggestive selling and upselling practices among service associates. * Verify billing accuracy and ensure all guest charges are correctly posted. * Monitor operational efficiencies and identify opportunities to improve productivity. * Minimize waste through proper handling of food, beverages, and operating supplies. * Ensure responsible use of outlet resources, equipment, and inventory. * Assist supervisors and management with inventory control, stock management, and monthly counts. * Monitor breakages and operational losses and take corrective action when necessary. * Support implementation of cost\-control initiatives and revenue\-generating programs. * Maintain awareness of daily business levels, forecasts, and outlet performance objectives. **Leading:** * Lead by example in professionalism, grooming, attitude, and service delivery. * Supervise, motivate, and support service associates during all operational periods. * Conduct daily briefings and communicate important operational information to the team. * Provide coaching, guidance, and on\-the\-job training to associates. * Support onboarding and development of new team members. * Ensure effective allocation of stations and responsibilities to maximize operational efficiency. * Promote teamwork, collaboration, and a positive working environment. * Monitor associate performance and provide constructive feedback. * Identify training needs and communicate development opportunities to management. * Support management in maintaining service standards, productivity, and employee engagement. * Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. * Demonstrate strong leadership and adaptability in responding to changing business demands and evolving guest expectations. Standard Responsibilities (adjust if necessary) * Comply and adhere to all Rosewood company policies and hotel procedures. * Take on additional tasks within the scope of the role as required by business needs. * Act as a brand ambassador at all times and maintain brand integrity. * Reflect the company’s culture, vision, mission, and core values in daily actions and decisions. * Maintain awareness and application of Rosewood, Forbes, and LQA standards. * Support the adoption of systems, technology, and tools that improve operational efficiency. * Maintain effective communication within the outlet and across departments. * Identify training and development needs through daily interaction and observation. * Lead by example in appearance, behavior, and professional conduct. * Maintain a strong operational presence throughout all service periods. * Ensure compliance with hygiene, HACCP, and safety standards. * Follow all emergency procedures and operational protocols. * Protect the reputation of the hotel through professional and responsible conduct. Confidentiality Whilst working for the company there will be access to a wide variety of confidential information concerning the company, guests, associates, and hotel operations. It is vital that all such information remains confidential and must not be disclosed to anyone outside the company unless otherwise authorized. Maintain confidentiality of all company, guest, and associate information. Protect sensitive operational and financial information.
