ROLE SUMMARY
The Estimator is the technical and commercial bridge between the sales team and the factory. This role receives client inquiries from the sales team, translates them into structured technical inquiries for the factory, obtains and validates the factory’s technical quotation, applies Lift Mart’s costing and pricing logic to determine sale price and margin, and builds the final quotation in Lift Mart’s standard format. The Estimator owns the accuracy, turnaround speed, and commercial soundness of every quotation issued by the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inquiry Intake \& Translationa
Receive inquiries from the sales team (new supply, modernization, service, car lifts, turntables) with client requirements, specifications, and site conditions.
Clarify incomplete or ambiguous requirements with the salesperson before proceeding to the factory.
Translate client requirements into a structured technical inquiry (capacity, speed, travel, stops, cabin finish, code/standard requirements e.g. EN 81\-20, shaft/pit/headroom dimensions) suitable for factory submission.
Factory Coordination
Submit technical inquiries to the relevant factory and track them to completion.
Follow up proactively on outstanding factory quotations to protect turnaround time.
Review factory technical quotations for completeness, code compliance, and alignment with the original client requirement; query the factory directly where discrepancies exist.
Escalate factory delays, non\-responses, or technical disputes to the BDM.
Costing, Pricing \& Quotation Build
Apply the company pricing engine to calculate landed cost, installation cost (Inovas rate where applicable), overheads, and margin.
Determine final sale price in line with approved pricing guidelines and margin targets; flag any exception pricing to the BDM for approval.
Build the final client\-facing quotation on Lift Mart’s standard branded template, ensuring technical, commercial, and terms sections are complete and consistent.
Maintain version control on quotation revisions (e.g. Rev.1, Rev.2…) and ensure the sales team always quotes from the latest approved version.
System \& Reporting
Log every inquiry, factory quotation, and final quotation in Odoo (CRM / Estimation) as the single source of truth – no offline\-only quotation records.
Keep quotation status, revision history, and pricing data current and auditable in Odoo.
Provide visibility to the BDM on open, pending, and overdue quotations.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIS)
Quotation turnaround time – from inquiry receipt to final quotation issued (primary KPI).
Win rate – proportion of issued quotations converted to signed contracts.
Quotation volume – number of quotations processed per period, in line with sales team capacity.
Costing accuracy – variance between quoted margin and actual project margin realized.
Odoo data completeness – percentage of inquiries and quotations fully logged and current in the system.
The Work You’ll Do
REQUIRED SKILLS \& EXPERIENCE
Technical or engineering background (mechanical/electrical) with the ability to read and interpret elevator/lift specifications and shop drawings.
Prior experience in estimation, technical sales support, or quotation preparation – vertical transportation, MEP, or related construction/industrial equipment sector preferred.
Strong Excel skills; ability to work confidently with a structured costing/pricing model.
Working knowledge of Odoo ERP or similar ERP/CRM systems, or the ability to learn quickly.
High attention to detail and numerical accuracy – errors in costing directly affect company margin.
Strong follow\-up discipline; comfortable chasing factories and internal stakeholders to protect deadlines.
Clear written communication in English; Arabic and/or Mandarin an advantage given international factory coordination.
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
Diploma or degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical field.
2\+ years in an estimation, technical sales, or quantity surveying role, ideally in elevators, escalators, or building services.
Exposure to EN 81\-20 or equivalent lift/escalator codes and standards.

Sales Team (BDM, sales staff) – primary source of inquiries; primary recipient of finished quotations.
Factories – source of technical quotations; ongoing coordination on turnaround and technical queries.
Design/Engineering – technical clarification on non\-standard requirements.
QS/Estimation – alignment on costing methodology and project\-specific estimation.
Finance – visibility on pricing guidelines, margin targets, and approved exceptions.
