Draftsman Cum Site Supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / TRAINING / KNOWLEDGE • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Interior Design, or a related discipline. • Minimum 5 years’ experience in retail fit-out, supermarkets, hypermarkets, convenience stores, commercial interiors, or shopping malls. • Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD (mandatory). • Proficiency in SketchUp, Enscape/Lumion, Photoshop, and MS Office is preferred. • Strong understanding of retail planning, customer circulation, merchandising layouts, equipment integration, and interior detailing. • Knowledge of UAE authority requirements, including Dubai Municipality, Civil Defence, DEWA, SIRA, Trakhees, RTA, DIFC, and other local authorities. • Ability to prepare the following drawings: • Architectural drawings • Shop drawings • Joinery details • Flooring layouts • Elevations and sections • As-built drawings • Good understanding of construction methods, materials, finishes, and retail fixtures. • Valid UAE driving licence preferred. COMMUNICATION AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS The role requires regular interaction with: • Engineering Project Managers • Maintenance Team • Procurement Department • Operations and Store Management • Consultants and Architects • Interior Fit-out Contractors • MEP Contractors • Refrigeration Suppliers • Fixture Suppliers • Authority Inspectors • Landlords and Mall Management • Prepare concept layouts based on business requirements. • Produce complete architectural drawing packages. • Ensure drawings comply with company standards and authority requirements. • Maintain drawing registers and revision control. Site Supervision • Conduct regular site inspections. • Verify construction work against approved drawings. • Identify deviations and recommend corrective actions. • Monitor workmanship and installation quality. • Ensure contractors follow approved specifications. • Prepare site observation reports. • Assist in snagging and de-snagging activities. • Verify measurements before fabrication and installation. • Coordinate site changes and update drawings accordingly. Project Coordination • Attend project coordination meetings. • Support quantity verification and BOQ preparation. • Assist in contractor evaluations. • Coordinate with suppliers for shop drawing approvals. • Support authority submissions where required. OPERATING ENVIRONMENT The role operates across: • Corporate Engineering Office • Existing Retail Stores • New Store Construction Sites • Warehouses • Shopping Malls • Mixed-use Developments The position requires frequent travel to project sites across the UAE and involves a combination of office-based drafting and field-based site supervision.
