Diesel Generator Technician

Job Title: Generator Technician Main Duties & Responsibilities • Inspect, maintain, service, and repair diesel generators. • Diagnose and troubleshoot generator faults and breakdowns. • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on generators. • Check and maintain diesel engines, cooling systems, fuel systems, batteries, belts, hoses, and other generator components. • Inspect generator control panels and identify operational faults. • Prepare generators for rental/delivery and conduct proper inspection after their return. • Install, test, and commission generators at customer sites when required. • Attend customer sites for breakdowns, emergency repairs, and technical support. • Carry out routine generator testing and ensure proper performance before deployment. • Maintain accurate service, maintenance, and breakdown records. • Ensure generators are kept clean, safe, and ready for operation. • Follow company safety procedures and ensure safe working practices during all maintenance activities. • Coordinate with the Rental/Operations team regarding generator availability, maintenance, and technical issues. Requirements • Proven experience as a Generator Technician or Diesel Generator Technician. • Good knowledge of diesel generator engines and generator systems. • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing generator breakdowns. • Knowledge of generator control panels, ATS, batteries, and related components. • Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance independently. • Ability to work at customer sites and respond to urgent breakdown calls. • Technical certificate/diploma in Diesel Mechanics, Generator Technology, or a related field is preferred. • Driving license is preferred. • Good communication and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency technical situations. Preferred Experience 2–5 years of experience in generator maintenance, preferably with rental generators or heavy-duty diesel generators.
