Cost Accountant

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates Experience: 2+ Years Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Professional Qualification: CMA (Certified Management Accountant) – Mandatory About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join the Dubai headquarters of a diversified African conglomerate with operations across multiple industries. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring costs, analyzing financial data, supporting budgeting activities, and providing actionable insights to improve operational efficiency and profitability across the Group. Key Responsibilities • Prepare and maintain product, project, and operational cost records. • Analyze cost variances and identify opportunities for cost optimization. • Develop and maintain standard costing models and cost allocation methodologies. • Monitor inventory valuation and reconciliation in coordination with operations. • Prepare monthly cost reports, margin analysis, and management dashboards. • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. • Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to cost accounting. Requirements • Minimum 2 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within manufacturing, FMCG, trading, logistics, or a diversified group environment. • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory accounting, and financial reporting. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar). • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and manage multiple priorities. • Knowledge of IFRS and internal control frameworks. • Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables, Power Query, and financial analysis tools.
