Commercial Estimation Engineer

**Job Summary** We are seeking an experienced **Commercial Estimation Engineer** to prepare accurate cost estimates, tender submissions, commercial proposals, and bid documentation for construction and engineering projects. The successful candidate will coordinate with engineering, procurement, project management, and commercial teams to ensure competitive pricing, technical compliance, and successful project bidding while maximizing profitability. **Key ResponsibilitiesEstimation \& Costing** * Prepare accurate cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents. * Review project requirements, scope of work, and technical specifications. * Perform quantity take\-offs from IFC drawings, shop drawings, and tender documents. * Calculate material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs. * Develop detailed cost breakdowns and estimate summaries. * Maintain cost databases and historical pricing records. * Evaluate project risks and include appropriate contingencies in estimates. **Tender \& Proposal Management** * Review tender invitations, RFQs, and RFPs. * Prepare technical and commercial bid proposals. * Coordinate complete tender submissions within deadlines. * Ensure compliance with client requirements and tender specifications. * Prepare bid clarifications and respond to client queries. * Participate in tender opening, negotiations, and post\-bid discussions. * Support contract award and project handover processes. **Commercial Evaluation** * Analyze project profitability and commercial viability. * Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations. * Compare quotations to ensure the best commercial value. * Prepare bid comparison statements and commercial evaluations. * Identify cost\-saving opportunities and value engineering options. * Assist in pricing variations and change orders. * Support commercial negotiations with clients and suppliers. **Coordination** * Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, Planning, and QA/QC teams. * Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for quotations and technical information. * Coordinate with clients and consultants regarding commercial clarifications. * Ensure engineering deliverables are aligned with commercial proposals. * Support smooth project handover to the execution team. **Procurement Support** * Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations. * Coordinate material pricing and procurement schedules. * Monitor market price fluctuations for construction materials. * Build and maintain supplier and subcontractor databases. * Recommend approved suppliers and vendors. **Cost Control \& Value Engineering** * Recommend alternative materials and construction methods to reduce costs. * Support value engineering initiatives without compromising quality. * Monitor estimated costs against project budgets. * Assist in forecasting project costs and commercial risks. * Support budget preparation for new projects. **Documentation \& Reporting** * Prepare estimation reports and commercial summaries. * Maintain tender registers and bid tracking records. * Prepare quantity take\-off sheets and costing spreadsheets. * Maintain documentation for all submitted bids. * Prepare management reports on tender status and success rates. * Ensure proper filing of commercial documents. **Contract \& Commercial Support** * Review contract conditions and commercial terms. * Identify commercial risks and contractual obligations. * Support preparation of variation orders and claims. * Assist with payment applications and project valuations. * Coordinate with the commercial team throughout the project lifecycle. **Quality \& Compliance** * Ensure estimates comply with project specifications and company standards. * Verify compliance with client requirements and tender conditions. * Follow company commercial procedures and documentation standards. * Maintain confidentiality of commercial information. **General Responsibilities** * Stay updated on market trends, material prices, and industry standards. * Support continuous improvement of estimation processes. * Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors. * Perform any other duties assigned by the Commercial Manager or Management. **RequirementsEducation** * Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline. **Experience** * 3–8 years of experience in commercial estimation, tendering, or quantity surveying. * UAE/GCC experience is preferred. * Experience in **structural steel, steel fabrication, PEB, oil \& gas, industrial, commercial, fit\-out, façade, EPC, or infrastructure projects** is an advantage. **Technical Skills** * Strong knowledge of quantity take\-offs, cost estimation, and tender preparation. * Ability to read IFC drawings, shop drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. * Familiarity with AutoCAD and ERP systems is an advantage. * Knowledge of procurement processes and commercial evaluations. * Understanding of
