Job description
Performs continuous surveillance of assigned inspection activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
Inspect and monitor all micro-tunneling / NDRC / pipe jacking / Temporary works construction and related civil works. Inspect and supervise piling works, ensuring correct pile location, alignment, depth and bearing; witness integrity/load tests as per approved ITPs. Supervise trough pre-casting and structural concrete works , ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs and project requirements. Inspect DEWA related water and electrical civil works for compliance with DEWA standards, approved NOCs and authority drawings. Witness and document inspections, tests and quality control activities in accordance with approved ITPs (concrete works, earthworks compaction, piling tests, pressure/leak tests as applicable), identify non conforming works and follow up on corrective and preventive actions. Prepare daily inspection reports and site diaries, maintain accurate records (WIRs, checklists, photos, logs), support progress reporting, and assist the Resident Engineer in monitoring programme and resolving technical issues related to civil, DEWA and trenchless works.
Associate degree or Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering / related technical discipline Minimum 7 years of related experience in construction supervision of infrastructure projects, including roads/corridors, utilities, concrete structures, piling and trenchless works (micro-tunneling / pipe jacking / NDRC). Proven experience on DEWA Water and DEWA Electrical projects, with clear familiarity with DEWA standards, details, inspection requirements and coordination with DEWA representatives Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, specifications, ITPs and method statements; strong understanding of construction processes for civil, structural, piling and trenchless works. Good verbal and written communication skills in English and solid reporting/record keeping capability (daily diaries, inspection reports, checklists). Proficiency in basic computer usage and Microsoft Office; ability to use common project / document management systems for WIRs, NCRs and progress tracking.
Recent hands on experience in micro-tunneling / pipe jacking / NDRC works in the Emirate of Dubai and familiarity with local authority procedures and approvals. Experience supervising trough pre-casting yards and distributed work fronts under compressed programmes. UAE driving license and ability to travel efficiently between multiple inspection locations and yards.
