Chief Accountant

We are looking for an experienced and detail\-oriented **Chief Accountant** to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day\-to\-day accounting operations, financial reporting, month\-end and year\-end closing, reconciliations, compliance, and supporting management with accurate financial information. The ideal candidate should have strong accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and hands\-on experience with accounting systems and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities * Manage and oversee the company’s daily accounting operations. * Maintain accurate and up\-to\-date financial records and accounting entries. * Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. * Handle month\-end and year\-end closing activities. * Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments. * Perform bank, supplier, customer, and general ledger reconciliations. * Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable. * Review invoices, payments, receipts, and supporting documents. * Monitor cash flow and assist with cash\-flow forecasting. * Prepare financial statements, including the Statement of Financial Position, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement. * Ensure proper accounting treatment and classification of transactions. * Monitor company expenses and assist in budget preparation and cost control. * Coordinate with external auditors and provide the required financial documents and schedules. * Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, company policies, and Qatar regulations. * Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records. * Identify accounting discrepancies and take corrective action. * Provide financial analysis and reports to management when required. * Supervise and guide junior accounting staff. * Support management in financial planning, budgeting, and decision\-making. * Perform other finance and accounting duties as assigned. Requirements * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. * **5\+ years of relevant accounting experience**, preferably with experience in a Chief Accountant or senior accounting role. * Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting. * Experience with month\-end and year\-end closing procedures. * Good knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger management. * Experience with accounting software/ERP systems. * Strong Microsoft Excel skills. * Good understanding of financial controls and accounting procedures. * Excellent analytical and problem\-solving skills. * Strong attention to detail and accuracy. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. * Good communication and interpersonal skills. * Previous experience in Qatar/GCC is preferred. * Knowledge of Qatar tax, VAT, and other applicable financial regulations is an advantage. Preferred Qualifications * Professional accounting qualification such as **ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent** is preferred. * Experience in a multi\-company or fast\-paced business environment. * Experience handling audits and working with external auditors. * GCC/Qatar accounting experience will be an advantage.
