Chief Accountant

**About Us** Horizons Industrial Development Company (HIDC) is a growing industrial group in Oman. We are looking for a hands\-on Chief Accountant to lead our finance operations and take full ownership of our Odoo ERP accounting environment. **Role Summary** Reporting to the Finance Manager / CFO, the Chief Accountant will manage the day\-to\-day accounting cycle, deliver accurate and timely financial reporting, and act as the internal owner of the company's Odoo accounting modules. **Key Responsibilities** * Manage the full accounting cycle: journal entries, GL, AP/AR, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations * Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS * Own the Odoo accounting environment end\-to\-end: chart of accounts, analytic accounting, cost centers, taxes, and reporting * Coordinate integration between Odoo Accounting and Inventory, Manufacturing, Purchase, and Sales modules * Oversee inventory and manufacturing costing, WIP, and variance analysis * Handle VAT filing and full compliance with Oman Tax Authority requirements * Prepare budgets, cash flow forecasts, and monthly variance reports for management * Supervise and develop the accounting team * Support external audits and act as the primary liaison with auditors * Strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures across the group **Required Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field * **Minimum 3–5 years of hands\-on, continuous experience working on Odoo ERP (Accounting module) — this is a core requirement, not a preference** * 6\+ years of total accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role * Solid working knowledge of IFRS * Practical experience with Oman VAT regulations and filing * Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling) * Excellent English communication skills; Arabic is an advantage **Preferred** * Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment * Exposure to Odoo implementation, migration, or configuration projects * Familiarity with Odoo Studio, custom reporting, or basic SQL * Professional certification (CMA, ACCA, CPA, or in progress) **What We Offer** * Competitive salary package based on experience * Medical insurance and annual leave as per Oman Labour Law * Clear career progression within a growing industrial group * A modern, fully digitized ERP\-driven finance function **How to Apply** Apply directly through this Indeed listing with your updated CV.
