Assistant Professor (Economics)

Job/Position Summary The Department of Finance and Economics, College of Business Administration at the University of Sharjah, invites applications for a full-time, permanent faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Economics, specializing in Environmental Economics and Sustainability, commencing in Fall 2024. The Department seeks qualified candidates with demonstrated teaching and research expertise in Environmental Economics, Sustainability, Climate Change Economics, Natural Resource Economics, and Sustainable Development. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Economics or a closely related discipline from an internationally recognized/accredited university, preferably a Western university. Candidates must demonstrate a strong research profile, evidenced by publications in reputable Scopus-indexed journals, and have at least three years of full-time academic teaching experience in higher education. Teaching experience in Environmental Economics, Sustainability, or related courses is essential. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and postgraduate Economics courses, including MBA, EMBA, BAM, and DBA programs; conduct high-quality research; supervise student projects and dissertations; contribute to curriculum development and academic accreditation; and engage in professional activities, community service, and industry collaboration.
