Assistant Manager (HVAC Design and Estimation)

Role & responsibilities We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager HVAC Design, Estimation & Tendering to independently manage HVAC design, estimation, costing, and tendering activities for commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, and industrial projects in Oman. • Review tender documents, drawings, technical specifications, and scope of work. • Perform HVAC cooling load calculations using HAP and prepare HVAC system designs. • Design and select Chilled Water, VRF/VRV, DX, AHU, FCU, FAHU, and ventilation systems. • Prepare HVAC layouts, duct sizing, chilled water piping calculations, and equipment schedules. • Prepare detailed BOQs, quantity take-offs, material specifications, and cost estimates. • Estimate costs for HVAC equipment, ducting, piping, insulation, accessories, labour, installation, and commissioning. • Prepare technical and commercial tender submissions, rate analysis, and cost comparison statements. • Obtain and negotiate quotations with suppliers and subcontractors. • Identify scope gaps, exclusions, deviations, and commercial risks. • Coordinate with clients, consultants, procurement, and project teams. • Lead and supervise estimation and tendering engineers. • Ensure timely submission of competitive and technically compliant tenders. Preferred candidate profile • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in HVAC design, estimation, and tendering. • Strong experience in MEP/HVAC contracting companies. • Proven ability to independently handle HVAC tenders from enquiry to final submission. • Good knowledge of Oman/GCC construction market, supplier pricing, and tendering procedures. • Experience in commercial buildings, hotels, hospitals, residential, and infrastructure projects. • Strong knowledge of ASHRAE, SMACNA, and applicable project standards. • Excellent skills in HVAC BOQ preparation, costing, quantity surveying, and value engineering. • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
