Assistant General Manager (AGM) – Electrical

Key Responsibilities • Lead electrical engineering, maintenance strategy, and plant reliability improvement initiatives. • Oversee HT/LT power distribution systems, substations, transformers, switchgear, motors, MCCs, VFDs, and other industrial electrical equipment. • Develop and monitor preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs. • Drive root cause analysis, breakdown reduction, equipment availability, and reliability improvement. • Plan and manage electrical shutdowns, CAPEX projects, installation, testing, commissioning, and plant expansion. • Monitor power quality, load management, protection coordination, and energy efficiency. • Ensure compliance with electrical safety requirements, statutory regulations, and applicable engineering standards. • Manage maintenance budgets, critical spares, OEMs, vendors, and service contractors. • Lead and develop electrical engineers, supervisors, technicians, and maintenance teams. • Monitor KPIs, including equipment availability, MTBF, MTTR, preventive maintenance compliance, and maintenance costs. Candidate Requirements • Strong experience in electrical engineering and maintenance leadership within industrial or heavy manufacturing environments. • Sound knowledge of industrial power distribution, HT/LT systems, substations, switchgear, transformers, motors, and protection systems. • Proven expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance, reliability engineering, troubleshooting, and breakdown analysis. • Experience managing electrical CAPEX projects, plant shutdowns, commissioning, budgets, and contractors. • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive operational improvements. • Strong analytical, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. • Experience in copper, aluminium, steel, foundry, metal processing, or other power-intensive manufacturing industries will be an advantage.
