Safety Officer – Construction

Job Description ERA Projects is looking for an experienced and responsible **Safety Officer – Construction** to ensure a safe and compliant working environment across our construction sites. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring site safety, identifying hazards, conducting inspections, implementing safety procedures, and promoting a strong safety culture among employees, subcontractors, and site teams. Key Responsibilities * Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions, activities, and potential hazards. * Ensure workers and subcontractors follow safety procedures and properly use required PPE. * Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, briefings, and safety awareness sessions. * Prepare and maintain Risk Assessments, JSA, Method Statements, checklists, and safety reports. * Monitor high\-risk construction activities including work at height, scaffolding, lifting operations, excavation, hot works, electrical works, and confined spaces. * Monitor Permit to Work (PTW) requirements where applicable. * Inspect tools, equipment, machinery, access areas, scaffolding, and work areas for safety compliance. * Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions. * Follow up on corrective and preventive actions until closure. * Maintain safety inspection records, training records, incident reports, permits, and other HSE documentation. * Coordinate with project engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and workers regarding safety matters. * Ensure emergency procedures, fire prevention measures, and first\-aid arrangements are maintained. * Immediately report serious safety violations and recommend appropriate corrective measures. * Ensure compliance with applicable Bahrain occupational safety requirements and company HSE procedures. Requirements * Diploma or Bachelor's degree in **Occupational Health \& Safety, Engineering, Construction Management**, or a related field. * Minimum **2–3 years of experience** as a Safety Officer/HSE Officer in the construction industry. * Construction site experience is required. * **NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA** or equivalent safety certification is preferred. * Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and hazard identification. * Experience in Risk Assessment, JSA, toolbox talks, site inspections, and incident investigation. * Knowledge of PPE, PTW systems, working\-at\-height safety, scaffolding, lifting operations, excavation, and emergency procedures. * Good communication, reporting, documentation, and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with site teams and subcontractors. * Good written and spoken English.
