What makes up a Gulf package

A GCC offer is built from components most calculators ignore. Miss them and you can undervalue — or overvalue — an offer by thousands.

Basic salary

The headline number — but usually only part of the story.

Housing allowance

Often 25–40% of base, or company-provided accommodation.

Transport

A monthly allowance or a company car / fuel.

Schooling

Education allowance per child — a major line for families.

Flights & medical

Annual home tickets for you and family, plus health cover.

End-of-service gratuity

A lump sum on leaving, based on basic pay × years of service.

Questions, answered

Is the Gulf Salary Package Calculator free?
Yes — enter your numbers and see your total package instantly. No sign-up, and everything runs in your browser (nothing is stored).
Why does base salary alone mislead in the Gulf?
Gulf pay is a total package: base plus housing, transport, schooling, flights, medical, bonus and an end-of-service gratuity. The base is often only 50–70% of what you actually earn, so two offers with the same base can be worth very different amounts.
Is income really tax-free in the GCC?
Yes — Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain have no personal income tax on salary, so your package is your take-home. (Your home country may still tax you — check your own rules.)
How is the end-of-service gratuity calculated?
It is based on your basic salary and years of service, using each country’s commonly-published end-of-service rules (for example, the UAE uses 21 days of basic pay per year for the first five years and 30 days per year after). The figure shown is an estimate — confirm the exact amount against your contract and current labour law.
Do you show market salary benchmarks?
Not yet — we only show your own package math and factual currency conversions, never invented market numbers. Role-and-country benchmarks are coming; in the meantime the AI Career Team can match you to live roles you can apply to.
How do the currency conversions work?
Gulf currencies are pegged to the US dollar (the Kuwaiti dinar to a currency basket), so the conversions use those fixed rates. It lets you compare an offer in SAR against one in AED or QAR on a like-for-like basis — though cost of living still differs by city.

Figures are estimates based on your inputs and commonly-published Gulf pay and end-of-service rules — not financial or legal advice, and not employer-sourced salary data. Confirm gratuity and allowances against your contract and current labour law.
