Workshop Technician

• Perform general maintenance and repair activities for manufacturing plant equipment. • Operate workshop machinery including lathe, milling, drilling, and grinding machines safely and efficiently. • Repair damaged mechanical components such as shafts, bushes, sleeves, and other fabricated parts during equipment breakdowns. • Carry out machining, fitting, and fabrication work as per maintenance requirements. • Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities to reduce equipment downtime. • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications where required. • Inspect repaired components to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards. • Maintain workshop tools, machinery, and equipment in good working condition. • Follow company safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and maintenance best practices. • Coordinate with the Maintenance team to ensure timely completion of repair work. • iploma or ITI/Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Machinist, Fitter, or a related trade. • 3–5 years of experience as a Workshop Technician or Machinist in a manufacturing or industrial environment (preferably FMCG or beverage industry). • Hands-on experience operating lathe, milling, drilling, and grinding machines . • Strong knowledge of machining, fabrication, fitting, and mechanical repair techniques. • Experience repairing mechanical components such as shafts, rollers, bushes, couplings, and similar parts. • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide effective repair solutions during equipment breakdowns. • Good understanding of workshop safety practices and preventive maintenance. • Team player with good problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure during plant breakdowns.
