Job description
We are seeking a skilled Welder with proven experience in TIG and MIG welding processes. The ideal candidate will be proficient in reading welding drawings, symbols, and WPS documents, ensuring high-quality workmanship. A strong understanding of welding defects, inspection standards, and corrective methods is essential. The role requires the ability to work in demanding site conditions, including confined spaces and at heights. A commitment to safety and proper use of PPE is mandatory.
RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES
• Perform welding of structural, mechanical, and piping components using TIG and MIG welding processes.
• Weld in various positions, including 3G and 6G, in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Read and interpret welding symbols, technical drawings, isometrics, and work instructions.
• Set up, operate, and maintain welding machines and related equipment safely.
• Carry out fit-up, tack welding, and finishing/grinding of welded joints as required.
• Inspect completed welds for defects and rework where necessary to meet quality standards.
• Coordinate with the QC team for weld inspection and testing (e.g., visual, NDT) as required.
• Follow all HSE procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
• Maintain accurate daily work logs, material usage records, and report equipment faults.
• Keep the work area, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and in safe working condition.
• Valid welder qualification certificate (6G or 3G) covering TIG and MIG processes.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a Welder in an industrial/fabrication environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting welding drawings, symbols, and WPS documents.
• Sound knowledge of welding defects, causes, and corrective/rework methods.
• Understanding of applicable welding codes and quality/inspection standards.
• Physically fit and able to work in confined spaces, at heights, or in varying site conditions as required.
• Committed to safe work practices and use of PPE.
• QUALIFICATION ITI / Diploma in Welding Technology or equivalent trade certification.
• Valid and current welder qualification/certification (6G or 3G, TIG and MIG).
• EXPERIENCE Minimum 5 years' proven experience as a Welder, with demonstrated proficiency in TIG and MIG welding processes.
• Experience welding in 3G and/or 6G positions on structural, mechanical, or piping works.
• Prior experience in industrial, oil & gas, construction, or fabrication workshop environments preferred.
