Watch Polisher / Watch Refinishing Technician

**Summary** Responsible for restoring luxury and high\-end watches to factory finish standards through precision polishing, brushing, and refinishing of cases, bracelets, clasps, and bezels. Work requires strong attention to detail to maintain original lines, edges, and geometry while removing scratches, dents, and wear. **\*Key Responsibilities** \- \*Surface Preparation\*: Disassemble watches where required. Clean and prepare watch cases and bracelets using ultrasonic cleaners and appropriate solutions. \- \*Polishing \& Refinishing\*: Remove scratches, dings, and wear using polishing lathes, mops, brushes, and compounds. Execute mirror polish, satin brush, sunburst, and circular grain finishes to match manufacturer specs. \- \*Geometry Preservation\*: Maintain original case lines, chamfers, and edges. Avoid over\-polishing that reduces material or alters the watch’s shape. \- \*Inspection\*: Examine parts under magnification for defects before and after work. Check tolerances and ensure no damage to engravings, serial numbers, or logos. \- \*Equipment Maintenance\*: Operate and maintain polishing machines, buffing wheels, ultrasonic cleaners, and related tools. Select correct compounds and abrasives for steel, gold, platinum, titanium, and ceramic. \- \***Quality Control:** Meet brand standards for finish quality. Document work done and flag any parts requiring replacement. description \- \*Safety \& Handling\*: Handle luxury timepieces with care. Follow anti\-static and dust\-free procedures. **\*Required Skills \& Qualifications** \- \*Experience\*: 1–3\+ years in watch polishing, jewelry polishing, or precision metal finishing. Training at a watchmaking school is a strong plus. \- \*Technical Skills\*: Proficiency with polishing lathes, micro\-motors, ultrasonic cleaners, and hand finishing tools. Knowledge of Rolex, Omega, Patek, AP, Cartier finish standards preferred. \- \*Attention to Detail\*: Ability to work under 5x–10x magnification. Steady hands and excellent hand\-eye coordination. **\- \*Material Knowledge:** \- Understanding of stainless steel, precious metals, ceramic, and coatings. Know which surfaces can/cannot be polished. \- **\*Other\*:** Ability to read technical diagrams.
