Waiter / Waitress

Job Purpose To provide friendly, professional, and efficient service to students, teachers, and school staff while maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness, and customer service. Key Responsibilities * Greet students, teachers, and staff in a polite and friendly manner. * Serve food and beverages according to the approved school menu and company standards. * Assist students with their food selections when required. * Ensure food is presented neatly and attractively. * Maintain clean, organized, and well\-presented serving and dining areas. * Keep tables, counters, serving areas, and café equipment clean throughout the day. * Follow all food safety, hygiene, and personal hygiene requirements. * Ensure food is kept at the correct temperature and report any temperature or food safety concerns to the supervisor. * Check food labels, expiry dates, and product information when required. * Refill food, beverages, napkins, cutlery, and other service items as needed. * Ensure the buffet and display areas are properly arranged and not overcrowded. * Assist in preparing the café/canteen before opening and cleaning and closing the area at the end of the day. * Operate the coffee machine and other café equipment only when trained and authorized. * Handle customer requests and complaints politely and refer any issues to the supervisor when necessary. * Support the team during busy break periods to ensure students are served quickly and efficiently. * Follow the school’s rules and regulations regarding student safety and conduct. * Maintain a professional appearance and wear the required uniform at all times. * Follow instructions from the supervisor and cooperate with all canteen staff. * Assist with stock checking and inform the supervisor when supplies are running low. * Perform any other duties related to school canteen or café operations as assigned by the supervisor. Personal Hygiene \& Appearance * Maintain a clean and presentable appearance at all times. * Wear the complete and clean company uniform. * Keep hair clean and properly tied back where required. * Maintain clean and tidy nails. * Do not wear rings, watches, or unnecessary accessories while working. * Follow all required food\-handling and personal hygiene procedures. Skills \& Qualifications * Previous experience in a café, restaurant, school canteen, or food service environment is preferred. * Good communication and customer service skills. * Friendly, respectful, and patient attitude when dealing with students. * Ability to work efficiently during busy school break periods. * Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene. * Ability to work as part of a team. * Ability to follow instructions and company procedures. * Good attendance, punctuality, and professional behavior.
