Job description
Job Purpose:
To supervise veterinary laboratory operations and develop operational plans and protocols for routine and emergency veterinary testing and analysis for the company’s projects and customers’ farms, ensuring flock health and disease prevention in compliance with approved technical and quality standards.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Work in the Al-Jumum area between Mecca and Jeddah
• Evaluate vaccination programs through routine tests and laboratory analyses.
• Conduct regular and emergency tests and analyses for parent stock flocks.
• Perform comprehensive periodic inspections of the hatchery, distribution unit, and maintenance unit.
• Conduct routine inspections of day-old chicks to ensure quality, immunity, and freedom from vertically transmitted diseases.
• Perform periodic farm inspections for customers in coordination with the Sales Department to ensure flock health and improve customer satisfaction.
• Monitor the implementation of biosecurity measures among project staff to reduce the risk of zoonotic and infectious diseases.
• Prepare and implement the operational plan and estimated budget for the laboratory department.
• Update laboratory policies, procedures, and internal regulations.
• Participate in regular meetings and workshops with senior management and department heads.
• Identify laboratory requirements and follow up on procurement processes.
• Conduct periodic field visits to the project site, hatchery, and customer farms as needed.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive database for all tests and analyses related to parent stock flocks.
• Issue periodic laboratory performance reports (daily, weekly, and monthly).
• Ensure full compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Standards and ISO 22000:2018 Food Safety Standards.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Veterinary Medicine , with specialization in Laboratory Sciences .
• 5 to 10 years of proven experience in poultry veterinary laboratories.
• Excellent command of English (spoken and written).
• Strong knowledge of biosecurity procedures, vaccination programs, and poultry epidemic diseases.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to prepare reports and manage teams.
