**Urban Planner** **Specialization**: Urban Planning with Knowledge of landscape architecture. **Location**: Muscat, Oman **Role Summary** We are seeking an Urban Planner with knowledge of Landscape Planning and Design to support master planning, residential, mixed\-use, and large\-scale development projects. The candidate will be responsible for preparing and developing master plans, urban design layouts, land\-use strategies, open\-space networks, street hierarchies, and landscape concepts while coordinating with architectural, infrastructure, transportation, utility, and authority requirements. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of GCC/Oman planning conditions, climate\-responsive urban design, public realm planning, landscape integration, and authority submission requirements. **Key Responsibilities** Develop conceptual and detailed master plans for residential, commercial, mixed\-use, hospitality, and community developments. Prepare land\-use plans, zoning layouts, plot subdivision plans, development controls, density studies, GFA calculations, population studies, and area schedules. Develop road hierarchy, pedestrian circulation, cycling networks, public spaces, parks, community facilities, and open\-space systems. Integrate landscape planning principles into master planning and urban design proposals. Prepare landscape concepts for: o Parks and open spaces o Streetscapes o Green corridors o Public plazas o Community recreational areas o Pedestrian environments o Residential landscape zones Understand planting strategies suitable for Oman/GCC climatic conditions, including drought\-tolerant and low\-maintenance landscaping. Coordinate master planning requirements with Traffic/TIA, Roads, Infrastructure, Hydrology, Utilities, Architecture, Landscape, and MEP teams. Review existing site conditions, contours, access, infrastructure constraints, utilities, drainage corridors, and surrounding developments. Develop planning proposals based on site opportunities and constraints. Ensure efficient distribution of buildable areas, infrastructure, open spaces, amenities, and circulation networks. Prepare urban design guidelines, development controls, plot parameters, setbacks, building heights, FAR/GFA requirements, and design principles. Assist in preparing presentations, diagrams, illustrations, reports, and authority submission packages. Coordinate with government authorities, master plan consultants, infrastructure consultants, and other stakeholders. Review consultant drawings and proposals for compliance with approved master plans and project requirements. Participate in design workshops, client meetings, coordination meetings, and authority discussions. Support preparation of phasing plans and development strategies. Ensure that planning proposals consider sustainability, shading, walkability, orientation, microclimate, water efficiency, and landscape integration. * Coordinate landscape proposals with irrigation, drainage, lighting, street furniture, and public\-realm requirements. * Maintain consistency between master planning, architectural, infrastructure, and landscape packages. **Qualification \& Experience** * Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape **Architecture, or related discipline.** * Minimum 5–8 years of relevant professional experience in master planning and urban design. * Experience in large\-scale residential, mixed\-use, township, or community development projects is **preferred.** * Previous experience in Oman or GCC projects will be an advantage. * Good understanding of landscape planning and public\-realm design. * Knowledge of municipal planning regulations, development controls, road standards, accessibility requirements, and authority approval procedures. **Software Skills** Strong working knowledge of: * AutoCAD * Adobe Photoshop * Adobe Illustrator * Adobe InDesign * SketchUp * Microsoft Office Knowledge of the following will be an advantage: * Autodesk Forma * Revit * Civil 3D * InfraWorks * ArcGIS / GIS software * Lumion / Twinmotion / Enscape Technical Skills The candidate should have a good understanding of: * Master Planning * Urban Design * Landscape Planning * Land\-use Planning * Plot Subdivision * Development Control Regulations * GFA / FAR / Density Calculations * Road Hierarchy and Access Planning * Pedestrian and Cycling Networks * Public Realm Design * Open\-space Planning * Streetscape Design * Site Analysis * Climate\-responsive Planning * Sustainable Urban Design * Landscape and Planting Concepts * Infrastructure and Utility Coordination * Traffic and TIA Coordination * Authority Submission Requirements Preferred Candidate Profile * Strong design and visualization capability. * Ability to translate development requirements into practical and commercially viable master plans. * Good understanding of the relationship between architecture, landscape, roads, infrastructure, and urban planning. * Strong communication and presentation skills. * Ability to coordinate multiple consultants and disciplines. * Capable of independently developing planning options and responding to client/authority comments. * Detail\-oriented with strong analytical and problem\-solving skills. * Able to work effectively within project deadlines and manage multiple design packages simultaneously. Pay: RO400\.000 \- RO500\.000 per hour Work Location: In person
