Al-Futtaim Education Foundation (AFEF) is a not-for-profit initiative launched by the Al-Futtaim Family, with the aim of meaningfully impacting the education landscape in the UAE, the region, and beyond. The Foundation provides operational and academic oversight of its schools and supports them through a wide range of educational initiatives, guided by three core principles: Legacy, Community, and Future. Our Schools Deira International School (DIS) — an internationally accredited IB World School located on a state-of-the-art 70,000 sq. metre campus in Dubai Festival City, welcoming a student body of 1,500 pupils representing 75 nationalities. DIS holds an Outstanding rating from both KHDA and BSO, making it one of Dubai's most recognised schools for academic excellence. Universal American School (UAS) — an internationally accredited IB World School also located in Dubai Festival City, serving a diverse student community of 1,500 students from 75 nationalities. UAS is rated Very Good by KHDA and offers a rich curriculum spanning Early Years through to High School, with a strong focus on experiential and student-centred learning. Al-Futtaim Education Foundation's Train to Hire Programme is a fully-funded pathway designed to develop the next generation of Emirati educators. We welcome UAE National graduates from any bachelor's degree discipline who are passionate about shaping young minds and committed to a career in education. Participants will earn a fully-funded Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Birmingham — a world-class institution — while gaining hands-on classroom experience one of Dubai's leading international schools. • Structured on-site classroom observation and support • Co-teaching alongside experienced educators • University of Birmingham academic coursework • Regular mentoring and performance reviews • Attendance at either Deira International School or Universal American School • Lead teaching responsibilities with increasing independence • Lesson planning, delivery, and assessment ownership • Parent communication and student progress tracking • Demonstrates fluency in both Arabic and English, allowing for effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues. • Exhibits a deep understanding of the UAE national curriculum, ensuring alignment with educational standards.
