Switchgear Technician

Job Summary We are looking for an experienced **Switchgear Technician** to join our team in Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out maintenance and technical works on **11 kV switchgear and high\-voltage electrical installations**, strictly following the instructions of the Safety Document Holder and applicable **KAHRAMAA safety rules and requirements**. Key Responsibilities * Carry out maintenance and technical works on **11 kV switchgear** as instructed by the Safety Document Holder. * Perform inspection, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of 11 kV switchgear equipment. * Follow all applicable **high\-voltage electrical safety procedures** and KAHRAMAA requirements. * Ensure safe working practices are maintained while working on or near HV installations. * Identify and report electrical faults, defects, and abnormal equipment conditions. * Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities for electrical power equipment. * Communicate clearly and effectively with the **Safety Document Holder** and site team. * Follow approved work procedures, safety instructions, and permit requirements. * Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure tools and equipment are used safely. * Comply with company HSE policies and all applicable electrical safety standards. Requirements * **High School Certificate** or equivalent. * **Electrical Trade Certificate / Technical Certification** is preferred. * Minimum **2 years of relevant experience** in an electrical power utility or company maintaining **11 kV switchgear**. * Hands\-on experience with **11 kV switchgear maintenance**. * Good understanding of **high\-voltage electrical installations and safety procedures**. * Conversant with safety requirements related to **HV installations**. * Ability to understand and follow instructions from the **Safety Document Holder**. * Good communication and teamwork skills. * Ability to work safely in a high\-voltage electrical environment. Preferred Experience * Experience in **electrical power utilities, substations, or power distribution systems**. * Experience with **11 kV switchgear maintenance and troubleshooting**. * Familiarity with **KAHRAMAA procedures and requirements** will be an advantage. * Qatar/GCC experience is preferred.
