Software Quality Director

About the Role Intinka is seeking an experienced Software Quality Director to lead and strengthen the organization’s software quality and testing function.The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a comprehensive quality strategy, improving software reliability, and ensuring that products meet high standards of functionality, performance, security, and user experience. This is a senior leadership position that will work closely with Software Engineering, Product Management, DevOps, and other technical teams to integrate quality throughout the software development lifecycle. The role will focus on moving beyond traditional testing toward a modern, automation\-driven Quality Engineering approach. The ideal candidate is a strategic and technically capable quality leader who can build effective processes, develop high\-performing teams, introduce measurable quality standards, and help the organization deliver reliable software with greater speed and confidence. Key Responsibilities * Develop and execute the company's overall software quality assurance and Quality Engineering strategy. * Establish quality standards, testing processes, governance frameworks, and release\-readiness criteria. * Lead and develop QA, Quality Engineering, test automation, and related technical teams. * Establish an effective balance between automated, manual, exploratory, integration, regression, performance, and end\-to\-end testing. * Drive the adoption of automated testing across web, mobile, API, and backend applications where applicable. * Integrate automated testing and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines. * Partner with Engineering and Product teams to introduce quality earlier in the software development lifecycle. * Define and monitor quality KPIs, including defect rates, escaped defects, automation coverage, test effectiveness, release quality, and production incidents. * Identify recurring quality issues and lead root\-cause analysis and corrective actions. * Establish processes for defect management, test planning, test environments, test data, and release validation. * Evaluate and recommend modern testing tools, frameworks, and technologies. * Promote secure, scalable, reliable, and maintainable software development practices. * Participate in major product releases and provide an independent assessment of release quality and risk. * Collaborate with technical leadership to identify and mitigate software quality and delivery risks. * Build a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and quality ownership across engineering teams. * Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop quality professionals while establishing clear performance and career\-development standards. * Prepare quality reports and provide senior management with visibility into software quality, risks, and improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. * **10\+ years of experience** in Software Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, Software Testing, Test Automation, or a closely related field. * **5\+ years of experience in QA or Quality Engineering leadership**, including management of engineers, testers, or technical leads. * Strong knowledge of modern software testing methodologies and Quality Engineering practices. * Demonstrated experience developing and implementing organization\-wide QA or Quality Engineering strategies. * Strong understanding of test automation and experience with one or more modern automation frameworks. * Experience with API testing, integration testing, regression testing, functional testing, and end\-to\-end testing. * Working knowledge of CI/CD practices and integrating automated testing into software delivery pipelines. * Experience establishing quality metrics, dashboards, reporting processes, and release\-quality standards. * Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum software development environments. * Demonstrated experience with defect management, root\-cause analysis, and continuous quality improvement. * Strong analytical and problem\-solving abilities. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Proven ability to work effectively with software engineers, product managers, technical leaders, and business stakeholders. * Demonstrated ability to recruit, mentor, and lead high\-performing technical teams. Preferred Qualifications * Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. * Experience leading Quality Engineering transformation from predominantly manual testing toward an automation\-first model. * Experience with cloud\-based applications, SaaS platforms, microservices, or distributed systems. * Experience with performance, load, reliability, or security testing. * Familiarity with tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, Postman, JMeter, or comparable technologies. * Experience with cloud and DevOps platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. * Familiarity with AI\-assisted software testing and modern AI\-enabled Quality Engineering tools. * Professional certification such as ISTQB, CSTE, CSQA, or equivalent is an advantage. * Experience establishing quality practices across multiple software products or engineering teams.
