Job description

This role is responsible for supporting logistics procurement for inbound and outbound operations, ensuring cost-effective transportation, supplier coordination, compliance, and alignment with production and distribution needs. Assist in performance monitoring, process optimization, and strategic sourcing to enhance supply chain efficiency. Key Functional Responsibilities: • Assist in developing and maintaining strategic relationships with suppliers and logistics service providers to ensure seamless coordination of inbound and outbound shipments. • Support contract negotiations and establish service agreements with logistics providers, ensuring cost-effectiveness, compliance, and high-quality service delivery. • Support optimization of transportation operations (including trucking, rail, and ocean freight), selecting routes, modes, and carriers to minimize transit times, reduce costs, and maximize efficiency. • Monitor and analyse freight market trends to mitigate risks and capitalize on cost-saving opportunities. • Align production schedules with inbound material deliveries and outbound distribution requirements to guarantee on-time dispatch and delivery. • Track KPIs for logistics procurement performance (e.g., on-time delivery, transportation costs, inventory accuracy) and prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management. • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, customs regulations, and trade compliance standards for all shipments. • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements across logistics procurement operations. • Ensure adherence to new sourcing strategies and Vendor Management to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service. • Support ERP and logistics system implementations to enhance data accuracy, visibility, and operational efficiency. • Collaborate cross-functionally with production, finance, and operations teams to align logistics procurement strategies with overall business objectives. Education: Bachelor`s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Equivalent. Experience: 3 years minimum in a relevant field.
