**Senior Planning Engineer** **Location:** Oman **Industry:** Construction / Engineering **Experience:** 3–4 Years **Salary:** OMR 400–600 per month **Job Summary** We are seeking a qualified and experienced **Senior Planning Engineer** to support project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and reporting within a construction and engineering environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, monitoring actual progress against planned targets, identifying potential delays, and supporting project teams in implementing effective recovery plans. The role requires strong knowledge of project controls, scheduling techniques, and construction project coordination. **Key Responsibilities** * Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules in line with project requirements and contractual milestones. * Prepare and maintain baseline project programs and schedule updates. * Monitor project progress against approved schedules and planned targets. * Track key project milestones, deliverables, and critical activities. * Identify schedule deviations, delays, and potential risks affecting project completion. * Conduct schedule monitoring and delay analysis and provide recommendations to the project team. * Prepare recovery and mitigation plans to address project delays. * Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, subcontractors, consultants, and other stakeholders regarding project planning and progress. * Prepare accurate weekly and monthly progress reports. * Monitor actual progress against planned progress and highlight variances. * Support project forecasting, resource planning, and schedule optimization. * Assist in identifying critical path activities and potential schedule constraints. * Maintain project planning records, reports, and supporting documentation. * Provide regular updates to management regarding project progress, schedule performance, and potential risks. * Support the project team in achieving planned project milestones and completion targets. **Required Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree in **Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related Engineering discipline**. * **3–4 years of relevant experience** in project planning and scheduling. * Previous experience in the **construction or engineering industry** is preferred. * Strong understanding of construction project planning and scheduling techniques. * Practical knowledge of project controls and progress monitoring. * Ability to analyze project schedules, identify delays, and recommend corrective actions. **Technical Skills** * **Primavera P6** * Microsoft Project * Microsoft Excel * Project Planning and Scheduling * Construction Planning * Project Controls * Baseline Scheduling * Schedule Management * Progress Tracking and Monitoring * Critical Path Method (CPM) * Delay Analysis * Recovery Planning * Resource Planning * Project Reporting * Schedule Monitoring * Risk and Delay Management * Progress Reporting **Key Competencies** * Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills * Excellent communication and coordination skills * Strong attention to detail * Effective time management * Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines * Strong organizational skills * Teamwork and stakeholder coordination * Ability to prioritize multiple project activities * Proactive approach to identifying and resolving scheduling issues **Candidate Profile** The ideal candidate will be a **Planning Engineer or Senior Planning Engineer** with **3–4 years of relevant construction or engineering experience** and strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, project controls, and progress reporting. Candidates should have practical experience with **Primavera P6**, project schedule management, progress monitoring, delay analysis, resource planning, and construction project coordination.
