Job description
To deliver a high standard of musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy to the clinic’s patients, to support the development of junior clinical staff, and to contribute to the growth of the clinic through the referral and partner relationships the role generates.
This is a senior clinical post. The postholder is expected to manage complex caseloads autonomously, act as a point of reference for less experienced colleagues, and represent the clinic professionally to members, partner organisations and referrers.
**1\. Key Responsibilities**
**1\.1 Clinical practice**
* Carry an autonomous caseload of musculoskeletal and sports injury patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and discharge.
* Manage complex and long\-standing presentations, including post\-operative rehabilitation and recurrent injury.
* Deliver exercise\-based rehabilitation using the on\-site gym facilities, progressing patients through to late\-stage rehabilitation and return to sport.
* Apply objective, criteria\-based decision\-making to progression and discharge, using outcome measures and physical testing rather than time alone.
* Maintain accurate, timely and legible clinical records in line with clinic policy and QCHP requirements.
* Recognise presentations outside the scope of physiotherapy and refer appropriately to medical, imaging or specialist services.
**1\.2 Mentoring and supervision**
* Provide day\-to\-day clinical supervision and support to junior physiotherapists and assistants.
* Lead case discussions and deliver regular in\-service training sessions to the clinical team.
* Support the induction of new clinical staff, including orientation to clinic systems, documentation standards and treatment approach.
* Contribute to the professional development of colleagues through observation, joint sessions and constructive feedback.
* Act as an escalation point for colleagues managing complex or non\-progressing cases.
**1\.3 Business development**
* Build and maintain referral relationships with sports clubs, gyms, corporate clients and medical practitioners across Doha.
* Engage with on site gym members and staff to raise awareness of the clinic’s services, including talks, screenings and educational sessions.
* Contribute to the clinic’s marketing and educational content, including social media, workshops and community events.
* Identify opportunities for new services, partnerships and pathways, and contribute to their development.
* Represent the clinic at external events, conferences and partner organisations as required.
**1\.4 Governance and administration**
* Work within QCHP scope of practice, professional standards and clinic policy at all times.
* Participate in clinical audit, outcome measurement and quality improvement activity.
* Maintain continuing professional development in line with QCHP licence renewal requirements.
* Support the safe use, maintenance and stock control of clinical equipment and consumables.
**2\. Person Specification**
**2\.1 Essential**
* BSc (or equivalent) in Physiotherapy from a recognised institution.
* A minimum of five years’ post\-qualification clinical experience, with a substantial proportion in musculoskeletal or sports physiotherapy.
* Eligible for QCHP licensure in Qatar, or already licensed.
* Demonstrable ability to manage a complex caseload autonomously.
* Strong exercise prescription and gym\-based rehabilitation skills.
* Experience supervising, mentoring or teaching less experienced clinicians.
* Excellent written and spoken English, and strong interpersonal skills with patients and colleagues alike.
* Current BLS certification, or willingness to obtain it prior to commencement.
**2\.2 Desirable**
* MSc in Sports Physiotherapy, Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Sports Medicine or a related field.
* Experience working with athletic or professional sporting populations.
* Prior experience in private practice, and an understanding of what makes a clinic commercially successful.
* Experience in the Gulf region, or a demonstrated ability to work effectively across cultures.
* Additional qualifications in manual therapy, dry needling, strength and conditioning or a comparable area.
* Arabic language skills.
**2\.3 Personal qualities**
* Takes ownership of patients and outcomes, and works without close supervision.
* Committed to evidence\-based practice and to keeping current.
* Approachable and generous with colleagues; genuinely interested in developing others.
* Comfortable in a growing practice, where roles are broad and the work is not always neatly defined.
