Job description
The Senior Material Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting Ashghal projects, working within the GEC Supervision department. This position involves managing and overseeing material engineering activities, with a focus on maintaining high standards and adhering to project requirements. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall success of infrastructure projects in Qatar.
Oversee material engineering activities for Ashghal projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards. Review and approve material testing and inspection plans, ensuring alignment with project requirements. Conduct regular site visits to monitor material engineering processes and provide guidance to on-site teams. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure material engineering activities are integrated into project timelines. Manage and mentor a team of material engineers, providing technical guidance and support. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in material engineering practices. Prepare and submit comprehensive reports on material engineering activities, including recommendations and findings. Participate in project meetings and provide expert input on material-related matters. Ensure compliance with Ashghal requirements and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Bachelor's degree in Material Engineering or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred.
• A minimum of 12 years of experience in material engineering, with a strong background in infrastructure projects.
• Professional registration or certification in Material Engineering is highly advantageous.
• Proven experience in managing and overseeing material engineering activities for large-scale projects.
• Excellent knowledge of material testing and inspection techniques, and industry standards.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and develop a team.
• Proficiency in project management software and MS Office suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site as required by project needs.
• A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
• Must hold a valid MMUP/UPDA registration (Engineer Classification) in Qatar.
